Found some decor ideas from HM Home for a black, white and grey room. The function of this room is a guest room slash home office slash music room with guitar & drums. Perhaps some cushions, a blanket, candles, baskets and curtains are needed. There's place for a small puff and frames to have some black and white family photos on the wall. A black & white world map is on the shopping list as well. It will be nice to mark the next holiday destination there. New lamps are already bought.

(FI) HenkkaMaukka Homesta löytyi kivoja sisustusideoita musta-valko-harmaaseen huoneeseen. Tämän sisustettavan huoneen funktio tulee olemaan vierashuone/kotitoimisto/musiikkihuone. Ehkä tarvitaan muutama tyyny, peitto, kynttilöitä, säilytyskoreja ja verhot. Tilaa löytyy vielä pienelle rahille ja musta-valkoisille perhekuville. Ostoslistalla on lisäksi musta-valkoinen maailmankartta, johon on kiva merkata perheen seuraava matkakohde. Uudet valaisimet on jo ostettu.

A few years ago the room was made for a teenage girl. As she has already moved to her own home, needed to change the function of the room. Just by painting you can make miracles and change the whole atmosphere. Now this room starts to be a perfect extra place for a teenage boy to practise drumming, for mother to have a home office day and for friends popping by and staying over night.

Have you ever thought of coffee in cosmetics? I hadn't until lately when I found Phi Cosmetics. Phi is a Hungarian all natural & organic cosmetics brand. I have told about it before here. 

Phi has a line called Pazar Cafe, where coffee is one of the ingredients. At the moment there are face cream, eye cream and body lotion in this collection.

I have now finished the whole bottle of Phi Pazar Cafe eye cream! Just loved it! The texture is light and perfect for applying eye contour area in the mornings. I'm not a coffee drinker but the smell of coffee is something which is hard to beat and this cream has just the right coffee flavour. So it's a great way to start a day. I also felt that this cream literally opened my eyes as it gave a fresh and a bit tightening feeling. Just a small drop from the bottle was enough, and it absorbed fast and easily.

Why to have coffee in cosmetics?

Coffee is used in cosmetics simple because of caffeine, and caffeine is that what gives us some extra boost. Caffeine absorbs through the skin as well, which was a big surprise for me. When caffeine is placed under the eye, it can help reduce puffiness and dark circles  as they are caused by inflammation and poor circulation. Did you know that caffeine has a sun screen effect as well? It absorbs UVB rays when applied to the skin so it prevents burning.

Coffee (coffea arabiaca) is a rich source of antioxidants whether consumed as a beverage or applied to skin. Application can help restore skin and contribute to a healthier, smoother look and feel. It also appears to stimulate pathways in skin that lead to greater moisture retention.

Phi Pazar Cafe eye cream is definitely a must and so seems to be the face cream as well. I have still some left of it but can already say that it gives a great uplifting feeling and look too.

Other ingreadients used in Phi Pazar cafe eye cream are witch hazel water, cornflower water, rice oil, shea butter, grape seed oil, vitamin E, squalene, acmella, vitamin C and green tea.

(FI)Oletko koskaan ajatellut kahvia kosmetiikassa? Itse en ollut ennenkuin vasta viime aikoina kun törmäsin Phi-kosmetiikkaan. Phi on unkarilainen luomukosmetiikkamerkki. Olenkin maininnut siitä jo vähän aikaisemmin täällä.   

Phi'llä on kosmetiikkasarja nimeltään Pazar Cafe, jossa kahvi on yksi raaka-aineista. Tällä hetkellä sarjassa on kasvovoide, silmänynmpärysvoide sekä vartalovoide.

Olen juuri kuluttanut koko pullollisen Phi Pazae Cafen silmänympärysvoidetta. aivan ihana tuote! Koostumus on kevyt mutta ravitseva. Täydellinen tuote aamuisin silmänympärysiholle. En ole kahvinjuoja, mutta silti vastakeitetyn kahvin tuoksua on paha pistää paremmaksi ja tässä voiteessa on juuri oikea aromi. Loistava tuote aloittaa päivä.Tuntui myös että tämä voide kirjaimellisesti avasi silmät aamuisin sillä se antoi raikkaan ja hieman kiristävän tunteen. Pieni määrä pumppupullosta kerralla riitti hyvin ja se myös imeytyi helposti ja nopeasti.

Miksi käyttää kahvia kosmetiikassa?

Kahvia käytetään kosmetiikassa yksinkertaisesti kofeiinin takia ja kofeiini on juuri se aine joka piristää ja antaa extra boostia päivään. Kofeiini imeytyy myös ihn läpi. Tämä oli itselleni suuri yllätys. Kun kofeiinia levitetään silmän alle, se voi auttaa vähentämään turvotusta sekä tummia silmänalusia, sillä ne aiheutuvat tulehduksesta ja heikosta verenkierrosta. Tiesitkö muuten, että kofeiinilla on lisäksi aurinkosuojavaikutus? Se imee UVB-säteitä kun sitä levitetään iholle ja näin estää ihoa palamasta.

Kahvi (coffea arabiaca) on hyvä antioksidanttilähde niin juotuna kuin levitettynä iholle. Kahvi voi auttaa palauttamaan ihon kimmoisuuden ja näin iho tuntuu ja näyttää terveemmältä ja pehmeämmältä. Vaikuttaa lisäksi siltä, että kahvi stimuloi ihoa ja auttaa säilyttämään sen kosteuden.

Phi Pazar Cafe'n silmänympärysvoide on todellakin loistava ja niin tuntuu olevan myös sarjan kasvovoide. Sitä itselläni on vielä jonkun verran jäljellä, mutta jo nyt voin sanoa että se antaa ihanan piristävän tunteen ja iho näyttää sileämmältä.

Beautiful Chocolate From Organic Cocoa Beans

A few days ago I was invited for a dinner, which my friends organized at Haggenmacher Art Quarter Budapest. The dinner was delicious, pumpkin soup to start with and salmon for the main course. One of the guests - Kati Csiszar - brought beautifully packed dark chocolate for dessert. Guess what - she's an artist and had design the covers of these chocolate plates. How cool is that!

As a chocolate lover I was more than happy for the chocolate! These dark chocolates are made from single variety cocoa beans from Nicaragua with organic cane sugar and organic cocoa butter. The cocoa content is min. 72%. On the other side of the package there's nicely described about the cocoa:

The Aeriollado cocoa is grown in the foggy Northern mountains of Nicaragua, and it is named after one of its first growers. The produce from small farms of less than 3,5 hectares is collected weekly and transferred into wooden boxes at the community's fermentation facility where it obtains its unique character. During theprocessing, it's attempted to preserve as much of the cocoa's original fermented flavours as possible.

(FI) Jokunen päivä sitten osallistuin ystävieni järjestämälle illalliselle Haggenmacher Art Quarter Budapestissa. Dinneri oli tosi herkullinen - alkuun oli kurpitsakeittoa ja pääruokana lohta. Yksi vieraista - Kati Csiszar - oli tuonut kauniisti päällystettyjä suklaalevyjä jälkiruoaksi. Arvaa mitä - Kati on taiteilija ja hän oli suunnitellut näiden suklaalevyjen pakkaukset! 

Tällaiselle intohimoiselle suklaansyöjälle levyt olivat iloinen yllätys! Nämä suklaat on tehty nicaragualaisesta yhdestä kaakaopapulajikkeesta sekä luomuruokosokerista ja luomukaakaovoista. Kaakaopitoisuus on vähintään 72%. Pakkausten kääntöpuolella on kivasti kuvailtu suklaaseen käytettyä kaakaota:

Aeriollado-kaakaota kasvatetaan sumuisilla pohjois-Nicaraguan vuorilla. Kaakao on nimetty yhden sen ensimmäisen kasvattajan mukaan. Kaakaota tuotetaan pienillä alle 3,5 hehtaarin farmeilla. Pavut kerätään viikoittain ja kuljetetaan puulaatikoissa tilan fermentointitankkiin, jossa niihin kehittyy oma tälle pavulle luonteenomainen maku. Prosessin aikana tämä ainutlaaatuinen oma maku pyritään säilyttämään niin hyvin kuin mahdollista.

Studio Fabrika

Last Saturday there was a brunch and open day at Fabrika in Budapest. Fabrika is a vintage furniture and decor shop at Szondi utca in the 6th district. The place is gorgeous! You can feel the vintage and modern retro vibes there! I would love to make it as a home - brick walls, cement floors, big windows, high ceilings. It used to be a grocery store and after that a workshop for the psychiatric clinic before the Fabrika girls made it their workshop where they restore and update old vintage pieces, and also sell them there. 

I have to say that they do a really good job there - all of the pieces are beautifully restored with excellent taste. It would be great to decorate or stage an apartment with these vintage furniture, lamps, mirrors, hooks, posters... 

(FI) Viime lauantaina Fabrikassa oli avoimet ovet ja brunssitarjoilu. fabrika on vintage-huonekaluihin ja sisustukseen erikoistunut liike Budapestin 6. kaupunginosassa Szondi utcalla. Aivan ihastuttava paikka! Olisi ihanaa päästä tekemään siitä asunto - tiiliseinää, betonilattiaa, isoja ikkunoita ja korkeat tilat. paikka toimi aikinaan elintarvikekauppana ja sen jälkeen psykiatrisen klinikan terapeuttisena työskentelypajana kunnes Fabrikan tytöt ottivat tilan haltuun ja tekivät siitä itselleen verstaan ja kaupan. Tila on ihanteellinen paikka entisöidä ja päivittää vintage-kalusteita ja laittaa ne esille myyntiin. 

Täytyy sanoa, että tytöt osaavat hommansa - kaikki tuotteet on kauniisti ja hyvällä maulla entisöityjä. Olisi upeaa saada sisustaa tai stailata asunto näillä vintage huonekaluilla, lampuilla, peileillä, naulakoilla, julisteilla...

Print A Photo

There was a photo expo in Budapest the other weekend. Had a a chance to take a couple of photos with hundreds of other kindred spirits. So there was not really space there and had to snap and try to capture moments whenever possible. My favourite spot was this nicely staged flower girl portrait place, which was made by Rooms Studio.

For me the most interesting thing was to find out different materials for photo printing purposes. It doesn't always have to be just the 'normal' photo paper - there are really a lot of options out there. You can choose luster, matte, watercolour or metallic paper. A photo can be printed also on canvas, aluminium plate, acrylic plate or on glass. I think I will try all of them starting with canvas. I have photo series of 3-6 pics and it would be great to see them on different materials. I have found out that the smallest size what you can print on canvas is 30x30cm. First I wanted to have 15x15 but that might have been too small anyway, so I'm happy with the 30x30cm.

At the Photo Expo I found Poster Shop, which is a place for printing. It operates here in Hungary in two places at Kolosy tér in Budapest and in Debrecen. If you're not living in Budapest you can still use the services of Pigmenta as they ship abroad as well. I've been using Pigmenta for some time now and can highly recommend it. Their service and quality are excellent, and prices reasonable. 

Have you recently had your photos printed?

(FI) Viikko sitten Budapestissa oli Photo Expo. Paikka oli täynnä samanhenkistä porukkaa kamerat kaulassa. Kuvausmahdollisuudet oli väentungoksesta johtuen rajalliset ja tästä johtuen napsin kuvia eri ständeiltä aina kun vaan oli mahdollista. Suosikkikuvauspaikkani oli tämä Rooms Studion kauniisti stailattu kukkaistyttö spotti

Mielenkiintoisinta messuantia itselleni oli eri printtimateriaalien esittely. Mahdollisuuksia on vaikka kuinka paljon eikä aina tarvitse käyttää sitä 'tavallista' valokuvapaprua. Kuvan voi printata kiilto-, matta-, vesiväri- tai metallipintaiselle paperille. Tulostus onnistuu myös canvas-pinnalle, alumiini- ja akryylilevylle sekä lasipinnalle. Taidan okeilla kaikkia näitä vaihtoehtoja ja aloittaa tousta canvasista. Olen tehnyt 3-6 kuvan sarjoja ja olisi mielenkiintoista nähdä miltä näyttävät eri materiaaleilla.  Kuulemma pienin koko canvas-taululle on 30x30cm. Alunperin olisin halunnut vielä pienempiä 15x15cm, mutta tarkemmin ajatellen tuon kokoiset taitavat olla jo turhan pieniä, joten olen tyytyväinen 30x30cm kokoon.

Photo Expossa tutustuin Poster Shop -nimiseen firmaan, joka toimii Unkarissa kahdessa paikassa - Kolossy térillä Budapestissa ja Debrecenissä sekä tietysti myös netissä. Keep The Flu Away With Super Smoothie

This is the time of the year when everyone is suffering from a flu. If you're a lucky one and not yet caught it, perhaps you can avoid it totally with this this green smoothie. 

By picking up the right ingredients for your morning smoothie you will improve your immune system. Fresh ginger has incrediable health benefits (btw, I add it to everywhere!). Having ginger in your diet helps decrease inflamations, improve digestion and your body gets rid of toxins in a natural way. It can also reduce period pain.  Ginger is a sort of natural ibuprofen: strenghtens the immune system and works as inflamation preventative.

In this green smoothie there're also spinach (lot of iron), cinnamon (lot of antioxidants) and cardamom (detoxifying). 

Green Banana Spice Smoothie

3 cups spinach

3 cups coconut milk

1 banana

fresh ginger

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

1/2 tsp cardomom

Mix spinach and coconut milk in a blender. Add banana, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom and blend until smooth. 

Enjoy!

(FI) On taas se aika vuodesta kun lähes jokainen kärsii syksyisestä flunssasta. Mikäli olet onnekas eikä flunssa ole vielä iskenyt, voit ehkä välttää sen kokonaan tällä vihreällä smoothiella.

Valitsemalla oikeanlaiset raaka-aineet aamu-smoothieesi parannat vastustuskykyäsi. Tuoreella inkiväärillä on uskomattomia terveysvaikutuksia (lisään sitä lähes joka ruokaan!. Inkivääri vähentää tulehduksia, parantaa ruoansulatusta ja poistaa elimistöstä myrkkyjä luonnollisella tavalla. Se lisäksi lieventää kuukautiskipuja. Inkivääri toimii jonkin sorttisena luonnollisena ibuprofeiinina, sillä se vahvistaa vastustuskykyä ja estää tulehduksia. 

Tässä vihersmoothiessa on lisäksi pinaattia (paljon rautaa), kanelia (paljon antioksidantteja) sekä kardemummaa (poistaa kuona-aineita).

Green Banana Spice Smoothie

3 dl pinaattia

3 dl kookosmaitoa

1 banaani

tuoretta inkivääriä

1/2 tl kanelijauhetta

1/2 tl kardemummaa

Sekoita pinaatti ja kookosmaito tehosekoittimessa. Lisää banaani, inkivääri, kaneli ja kardemumma ja sekoita tasaiseksi.

My Cast Iron Teapot

I'm a heavy tea-drinker. I like all kinds of tea - green, white, black and rooibos. Here's a sneak peek to Twinings new green tea called High Mountain Green, but I will tell about it later and instead I will continue telling about my cast iron teapot. I have several beautiful teapots and always wanted to have a nice iron cast one. When I saw this piece I knew that I've found exactly what I've been looking for.

Cast iron teapots were created in ancient China. They were then adopted and further developed on by the Japanese into practical as well as decorative handicraft items. They symbolize the everlasting strenght and unity of the world. Through special chemical treatments, impurities are removed from the cast iron during the production process. A coating of misty black enamel is then applied to help prevent the development of rust. As water is boiled, trace amounts of iron in the water from the teapot provides an iron supplement that contributes to human health.This is a good news as tea weakens the absorbation of iron and I have a very low blood's hemoglobine. So maybe this helps me!

Small pots should only be used to serve tea. They should not be used to boil water directly.

How to take care of a cast iron teapot?

Before using, boil a pot of water and pour it out to prepare the pot for use.

After each use, make sure that the entire pot is clean and dry to prevent the develop,ent of rust. It's recommended that tea should not be kept in the pot overnight.

In the unlikely event of rust, the pot can still be used. After cleaning the rusted area with a soft brush, boil; used tea bags or tea leaves. The tannic acid from the tea will naturally react with the iron, producing a black seal, covering the rusted area. This will also prevent the reoccurence of rust. The rust from the pot is non-toxic, so it will be safe to use.

Store the pot in a cool, dry place. It can also be put on display to evoke moods of ancient China or Japanese tea culture. I like to have it on display!

(FI) Olen vannoutunut teenjuoja. Tykkään kaikenlaisesta teestä - vihreästä, valkoisesta, mustasta ja rooibosista. Tässä muuten pieni kurkistus Twiningsin uuteen vihreään teehen nimeltään High Mountain Green, mutta siitä lisää hieman myöhemmin. Tässä postauksessa keskityn valurautaiseen teepannuuni. Kauniita teepannuja löytyy useampikin, mutta valurautainen oli ollut hakusessa jo jonkin aikaa.  Kun tämä pannu tuli vastaan, tiesin heti se on nyt siinä!  

Ensimmäiset valurautaiset teepannut valmistettiin muinaisessa Kiinassa. Japanilaiset kiinnostuivat näistä teepannuista ja kehittivät pannuja käytännöllisimmiksi ja tekivät niistä koristeellisempia. Valurautainen teepannu symbolisoi ikuista voimaa ja maailman yhtenäisyyttä.  Valmistusprosessin aikana epäpuhtaudet poistetaan valuraudasta kemikaalisin menetelmin. Tämän jälkeen lisätään musta emaalikerros, joka estää ruostumisen. Pannusta irtoaa kiehuvaan veteen rautaa, joka samalla toimii hyvänä ruokavalion rautalisänä. Tämä on todella hyvä juttu sillä tee heikentää raudan imeytymistä elimistöön ja mulla on hyvin alhainen veren hemoglobiini. Ehkäpä tästä rautapannusta on apua!

Pieniä pannuja tulisi käyttää ainoastaan teen tarjoiluun eikä teeveden keittämiseen.

Miten huolehtia valurautapannusta?

Ennen käyttöä täytä pannu kiehuvalla vedellä ja kaada se sitten pois. Näin valmistat pannun käyttöön.

Jokaisen käytön jälkeen varmista että pannu on puhdas ja kuiva. Nin ehkäiset pannun ruostumisen. Suositusten mukaan teetä ei tulisi jättää pannuun yön yli.

On epätodennäköistä, että pannu ruostuu, mutta jos näin käy, voi sitä silti vielä käyttää. Ruostunut kohta puhdistetaan käyttäen pehmeää harjaa, laita pannuun käytetyt teepussit tai irtoteetä ja kaada päälle kiuhuvaa vettä. Teelehdistä irtoava tanniinihappo reagoi raudan kanssa ja tuloksena on musta tiiviste joka peittää ruosteisen kohdan. Tämä estää myös uudelleen ruostumisen. Pannuun tullut ruoste ei ole myrkyllistä, joten sitä on täysin turvallista käyttää.

Säilytä teepannua viileässä ja kuivassa paikassa. Sitä voi säilyttää myös näkyvillä sillä se tuo mukavan, rauhallisen muinaisen kiinalaisen tai japanilaisen teekultturifiiliksen.Mulla tämä teepannu on aina esillä!

(EN)I guess there are days when we wake up in the morning feeling really tired and crappy. It's kind of ok if you can still continue sleeping but if you need to get up and look good & fresh, you will need some help to make it happen. Finnish holistic beauty brand Supermood has an excellent product line called Egoboost, and that's what it is - boosting your ego. Earlier I have introduced the cleansing foams of Egoboost and now it's time to check the other beauty products what they have in Egoboost line.

Seerumi on todellinen tehokosteuttaja ja sitä voi käyttää yksistään tai muiden Egoboost-tuotteiden kanssa. Itse olen levittänyt sen päälle käyttämääni CC-voidetta. Tuotteen rakenne on kevyt ja iho tuntuu heti pehmeältä, kosteutetulta ja hieman liftatulta. Käytän tätä seerumia päivittäin siitä huolimatta olenko vai enkä ole nukkunut riittävästi.

Wall Panels

(EN) Have you ever lived in a place where you can hear your neighbours or any of the walls is ice cold during the winter season? There is a solution for both these issues, and it's a wall panel. As an interior designer I always need to look for new things and solutions to make people's homes comfortable and functional - a place where they love to be. With wall panels you can insulate, sound proof and design a room all in one go. Finnish Halltex panels are great for all this. At Halltex they have been developing these insulating panels since 1946.

(FI) Oletko koskaan asunut kodissa jossa kuuluu naapureiden äänet tai seinät ovat jääkylmät? Molempiin näihin löytyy ratkaisu seinäpaneeleista. (EN) These wall panels which you can see in my pics are from Halltex's Taika collection. The surface of the panel is vinyl wallpaper. I like especially this Taika 06 which has different hues of brown and it's also a bit shimmering when light comes in a certain ancle.

The wall panels can be assembled in vertically or horizontally, and panels with different colours can be mixed and create a unique look to a room.

(FI) Kuvissa näkyvät paneelit ovat Halltexin Taika-kokoelmasta, joissa on vinyylitapettipinta. Tykkään erityisesti tästä Taika 06:sta, jossa on ruskean eri sävyjy ja jonka pinta aavistuksen kimmeltää kun valo tulee tietystä kulmasta.

Seinäpaneelit voi asentaa vaaka- tai pystysuuntaan ja eri värisiä paneeleja voi yhdistää keskenään ja näin luoda jotain ainutlaatuista ja omaperäistä huoneeseen.
