When the season changes it's time to check what's in the beauty purse, and make sure there are all those essential potions & lotions to keep your skin healthy & glowy.

During this dark season the skin needs some extra boost. My favourite boost is vitamin C also in skincare.  My cousin Nina, who is beautician, introduced De-Ox C evolution creams & serums by Bioline to me. These skincare products are full of vitamin C.

The serum is creamy and quickly absorbing with fresh citrus scent. The eye cream is really sufficient, only a small drop is needed. This one also absorbs quickly and it brightens the eye couture. For lips I need something richer and more creamy one.

The essential C cream is lighter than the intensive correction cream, both are super nourishing, brightening and leave the skin fresh & healthy looking.

In the mornings I apply also my favourite BB cream to even the tone and create more flawless look.

Seerumi on täyteläinen ja silti nopeasti imeytyvä. Tuoksu on ihanan citrusmainen. Silmänympärysvoide on todella riittoisa, ainoastaan pieni painallus riittää. Tämä voide myös imeytyy nopeasti ja se kirkastaa silmänympärysten herkkää ihoa. Omasta mielestäni huulivoiteena se on vähän turhan kevyt, tykkään käyttää rasvaisempia voiteita huulille. 

Essential C -voide on kevyempi kuin tehokkaasti korjaava voide, molemmat ovat todella ravitsevia, kirkastavia ja jättävät ihon raikkaan ja terveen näköiseksi ja tuntuiseksi. 

Aamuisin lisään kasvoille vielä kerroksen suosikki BB-voidetta, joka tasoittaa ihon väriä ja luo virheettömämmän lookin.

Miksi C-vitamiinia?

C-vitamiini on ihan ykkös anti-aging -raaka-aine ihonhoidossa. Se kirkastaa ja pehmentää ihoa hellävaraisesti. Viime aikoina on paljon puhuttu siitä voiko laatukosmetiikkaa saada halvalla ja esiin on noussut juuri Lidlin superedulliset kosmetiikkatuotteet. Kerroin jo aikaisemmin kuinka olin Lidlin järkkäämässä ihonhoito ja meikkaustapahtumassa aikaisemmin keväällä ja että sain sieltä kotiin vietäväksi pussillisen Cien-kosmetiikkaa. 

Ihan kaikkea en saanut Lidlin tapahtumasta lahjaksi, vaan olen ihan itse ostanut - ripsiväri ja bb-voide ovat omasta kukkarosta pulitettuja tuotteita. Lähdetäänkin arvioimaan ensin niitä.

One of the topics concerning cosmetics and beauty products has recently been the question if it's possible to get quality cosmetics with low price tag. The German, mainly grocery store, Lidl has launced super cheap beauty products which have won many blind tests. 

I mentioned some time earlier how I participated a skincare workshop organized by Lidl, and that I recieved a goody bag with Cien by Lidl cosmetics. The bag didn't contain all these shown products - bought them with my own money. Here's a short review of those products.

Cien waterproof Mascara (musta)

Olen iät ja ajat käyttänyt tuuheuttavia ja pidentäviä ripsareita, jotka tekevät ripsistä melko tönkköisiä, joten aluksi tuntui ettei tämä maskara riitä mihinkään, mutta tulin kyllä melko pian toisiin ajatuksiin. 

Aivan ihanaa, että saa luonnollisen näköiset ripset, joissa kuitenkin on tehokkasti väriä. En tiedä johtuuko ihotyypistäni vai käyttämistäni silmänympärysvoiteista, mutta lähes aina ripsarit karisevat alaluomelle. Näin ei kuitenkaan käynyt tämän vedenkestävän ripsivärin kanssa. Ihan pelkällä vedellä se ei siis lähde ripsistä, mutta värin sai helposti ja hellävaraisesti putsattua misellivedellä.

Cien Waterproof Mascara in black

I have used for ages thickening & lenghtening mascaras, which make lashes quite messy. So my first reaction was that there's not enough colour in this one, but how wrong I was.

It's wonderful to have natural looking lashes with intensive black colour. I'm not sure if it's because of my skintype or those eye couture creams that I'm using, but almost always I find traces of mascara under my eyes during the day. This didn't happen with Cien waterproof mascara. Can't get rid of it with just plain water but very easily & gently with miscelle water.

All-in-one Blemish Balm Cream 

Valitsin kahdesta sävystä vaaleamman kun kasvojen iho näin talven jäljiltä on todella kalpea. Koostumus vaikutti heti miellyttävältä sormissa, mutta kasvoille levitettäessä jotenkin liian kuivalta suoraan iholle eikä se myöskään levittynyt kovin tasaisesti. Seuraavalla kerralla lisäsin alle pari tippaa Lumenen kasvoöljyä ja tulos oli heti parempi.

Vaalea sävy on todella vaalea myös tällaiselle härmäläiselle kalpeanassulle, joten kesäksi varmasti se tummempi sävy on parempi valinta. Plussaa tulee UVA-suojasta (joka siis suojaa ihoa auringon vanhentavalta vaikutukselta).

Tuote on ehdottomasti hintansa väärti.

Another Lidl beauty product that I bought with my own money is this bb-cream.

All-in-one Blemish Balm Cream

From 2 shades I chose the lighter one as my skin is extremely pale after long winter season. The texture felt straight away very pleasant between fingers, but  when applied on to face it felt too dry and didn't spread evently. Next time I added a couple of drops Lumene's facial oil on to my face before the bb-cream and the result was much better.

The light tone is really light even to my Nordic pale face, so the darker shade will be a better choice for summer. A big plus comes from the UVA protection ( that's protecting from the sun's harmful ageing rays).

Absolutely worth the price.

Näistä muista tuotteista olen ehtinyt testaamaan puhdistusmaitoa ja suihkugeeliä, joihin molempiin olen ollut hyvinkin tyytyväinen. Lisää testaan heti kun kerkiän!

Have had time testing only the cleansing milk and shower gel - both very good and pleasant products. Will continue testing asap!

Make-over!

Petra doesn't normally wear any make-up. Reason for that is that she finds it a bit too complicated. It's difficult to start if you haven't put any make-up for years - in Petra's case for 15 years.

Looking fresh & clean gives boost for self-confidence and makes you look like having more energy as well. I offered my helping hand and created a new face for Petra. She has good genes - well, we are relatives! :D - and not too much coverage is needed. So fresh & clean it is!

Petra has a pretty good arsenal of make-up already, she just needs some encouragement and tips to start with.

Skincare is super important and unfortunately Petra has neglected taking care of her skin. It's very dry and has some impurities. She has now promised to pay attention on skincare - cleaning and moisturizing every morning and night, scrubing gently every week.

Petra has all those needed basic tools for natural make-up:

Foundation - evens the skin tone, makes the skin glow

Eyeshadow primer - creates a good base for eyeshadow

Highlight pen - easy to use, lightens the shadows, enchances the high points

Powder - hides the unwanted extra shine

Double eyeshadow - beige & brown creates a natural look

Eye pencil - sharpens & forms the eyes, with brown you can't go wrong (MAC)

Mascara - definitely sharpens the eyes, black it is!

For lips I applied some Clinique's Chubby Stick lip colour balm.

Not much needed but makes a noticeable difference, doesn't it?

(FI) Petra ei ole pahemmin meikkaillut - omien sanojensa mukaan 15 vuoteen. Hänen meikkipussistaan kuitenkin löytyi kaikki tarvittava luonnolliseen ja raikkaaseen meikkiin, joten päätettiin kokeilla ja lopputulos on juuri sitä mitä pitikin - luonnollinen ja huoliteltu.

Do You Need Some Egoboost?

This is a real Cinderella serum! Egoboost by Supermood has 2 unbelievably fabulous beauty serums - one for the upper lids and the other for the whole face. As mentioned these are Cinderella serums so the effect lasts for some hours. Sounds like perfect products to use when ever a bit of lifting is needed.

Just warm up a couple of drops of the "Eyes wide open" serum in between your fingers and tap it on your upper lid towards your brows and also between the brows. Don't apply it under your eyes.

Do the same with the facelift serum - 2 or 3 drops should be enough - and tap it  with upward strokes. I usually wait for a few minutes before I apply my normal day cream and eye contour cream on the top of these serums.

Egoboost serums give a fresh look and tighten up the skin. They sort of give a tight cling wrap to your face. Sounds funny but looks good!

No, nyt on löytynyt todellinen Tuhkimo-seerumi! Supermoodin Egoboost-sarjassa on 2 avan mielettömän upeaa seerumia - yksi silmäluomille ja toinen koko kasvoille. Näiden Tuhkimo-seerumeiden vaikutus häviää muutamissa tunneissa. Hyviä tuotteita kun tarvitaan pikaista kasvojen kohotusta. 

Lämmitä sormien välissä muutama tippa "Eyes wide open" -seerumia ja taputtele sitä yläluomelle kohti kulmakarvoja sekä kulmakarvojen väliin. Älä levitä sitä silmänalusille. 

Toimi samoin kasvoseerumin kanssa - 2 tai 3 tippaa riittää - taputtele kasvoille ylöspäin suuntautuvin liikkein. Odotan yleensä muutaman minuutin ennen kuin levitän päälle paivävoiteen ja silmänymmärysvoiteen.

Egoboostin seerumit antavat raikkaan tunteen ja kiristävät ihoa vähän siihen tapaan kuin jos iholle olisi levitetty tuorekelmua. Kuulostaa hassulta, mutta näyttää hyvältä!

Sisu Facial Oil By Lumene

Now I've found it! A perfect facial oil for day time use. Facial oil has been part of my skincare routine especially during the winter season but only for the night time. Not any more - Sisu Facial Oil by Lumene is light enough to apply under my daycream.

Even the light green colour of this oil makes it feel lighter than the oils which are normally yellow. The colour yellow creates automathically a rich feel. I have applied only one drop for my entire face and one for the neck, and that seems to be enough. I let it absorb for a moment before adding my normal daycream and make up after that. 

So what is this Lumene & Sisu?

Lumene is a cosmetic brand from Finland and Sisu is its new beauty line. Every Finn is familiar with this brand as it's been around for years. It has advertised to be an affordable beauty brand for Finnish women. Now this has changed and Lumene has become more international and developed new lines based on pure arctic ingredients and technology. 

I think that's a fantastic concept. Even the packages are now so appealing! 

This is what it says in the package of Sisu Facial Oil:

"After a long dark winter, comes an intense burst of continuous summer light.

Arctic and Nordic plants have evolved to absorb and channel this unique light, producing high concentrations of potent nutrients and antioxidants."

I like that the oil naturally protects my skin against harmful external elements of the air. The oil also gives a healthy glow to my skin, and as I have mentioned before (wink, wink) oil absorbs more deeply than just a cream. 

In Lumene's Sisu facial oil there are used the seed oils of Nordic berries such as lingonberry (made a post of the health benefits of this small red berry, wink wink), blackcurrent and bilberry. There're also omega fatty acids and vitamin E.

(FI) No, nyt se on löytynyt! Nimittäin täydellinen kasvoöljy päiväkäyttöön. Kasvoöljy on kuulunut ihonhoitorutiineihini varsinkin talvisin ja ainoastaan yökäyttöön. Eipä kuulu enää pelkästään iltarutiineihin, sillä Lumenen uuteen Sisu-sarjaan kuuluva kasvoöljy on sopivan kevyt myös päivävoiteen alle.  

Jopa tuotteen upea vaalean vihreä väri luo kevyemmän fiiliksen. Öljythän on yleensä keltaisia väriltään, joka puolestaa saa ne automaattisesti vaikuttamaan täyteläisiltä. Yksi tippa on riittänyt koko kasvoilleni ja yksi kaulalle. Olen odottanut hetken, että öljy imeytyy ihoon kunnolla ennen kuin olen levittänyt päivävoiteen ja sen päälle meikin.

Mikä sitten on tämä Sisu?

Lumene ei meille suomalaisille kaipaa esittelyä. Kaikki tiedämme ja olemme ainakin jossain elämän vaiheessa käyttäneet jotain Lumenen kosmetiikkatuotetta. Sisu sen sijaan on Lumenen uusi kansainvälisempi tuotelinja, jossa on panostettua puhtaisiin pohjoismaisiin raaka-aineisiin, teknologiaan sekä upeisiin pakkauksiin. Aivan fantastinen ja kauan kaivattu muutos!

Tykkään siitä, että öljy suojelee ihoa luonnollisella tavalla haitallisilta ulkoisilta ärsykkeiltä ja kaikelta mitä ilmassa leijuu. Öljy luo kasvoille myös hehkua ja imeytyy syvemmälle ihoon kuin pelkkä voide (lisää siitä aikaisemmassa postauksessani täällä). 

Lumenen Sisu-kasviöljyssä on käytetty pohjolan marjojen siemenöljyä kuten puolukan (käy kurkkaamassa puolukan terveysvaikutuksista täältä), mustaherukan ja mustikan. Mukana on lisäksi omega-rasvahappoja ja e-vitamiinia.

Lipgloss With Plumping Effect

Which one is you choice - hot pink or warm golden hue?

I never know which one to pick so it's safer to have both just in case. I don't know if a warm or cooler tones are better for my complex. It all depends on the mood and outfit, of course. 

Rolf Stehr is a Swiss make-up brand which has this plumping lipgloss that gives a sensuous gloss with more volume and protects the delicate lip skin from wrinkles. Thanks to vitamin E and aloe vera it keeps the lips moisturized.

I often wear lipsgloss without any contouring and that's fine in most of the cases. But when I like to have a more groomed look a lip contouring pencil is definitely needed. Rolf Stehr collection has a wonderful contouring pencil which is a combination of pencil and sharpener. I think this is a brilliant idea!

Rolf Stehr on sveitsiläinen meikkibrändi. Sarjasta löytyy tämä huulten pulleuttava lisäävä huulikiilto, joka suojaa herkkää huulten ihoa rypyiltä ja tekee niistä täyteläisemmät. E-vitamiini ja aloe vera kosteuttavat huulten ihoa. 

Käytän usein huulikiilto ihan sellaisenaan rajaamatta huulia. Yleensä ihan ok juttu. Mutta kun haluan näyttää huolitellummalta huultenrajauskynä on välttämätön. Rolf Stehr'llä on upea huultenrajauskynä, joka on itseasiassa kynän ja teroittimen yhdistelmä. Aivan loistava idea!

Uni on niin tärkeä osa elämää. Kun on saanut nukuttua okonaiset 8 tunnin yöunet pysyvät kroppa ja aivot kunnossa. Itse olen parhaimmillani kun olen saanut nukkua 9 tunnit unet. Valitettavasti vaan tämä ei ole toteutunut viime aikoina. Menen sänkyyn aivan liian myöhään, vaikka kuinka olen päättänyt pistää silmät kiinni aikaisin.
