You might already know or heard of Vivre Deco webshop. Many of my clients in Hungary have ordered several pieces of furniture, rugs and smaller decor items there. Btw, this is not an ad nor have I received any money or gifts, but as I like it a lot, I just want to introduce it to everyone who is keen on interior design and decorating homes.

Monica Cadogan is the lady behind Vivre Deco webshop. She started the business is Romania in 2012. She wanted to bring nice, modern pieces to the market without high price tag. There's a wide variety of decoration items and quite many of them are for sale just for a limited time, so better be quick.

I receive Vivre's newsletter once a week and there's always something nice. This time I found their industrial style pretty tempting. Made some moodboards of my favourite items.

Zhao Zhou - Tea Haven

All my friends and probably some of you who are reading my blog posts know that coffee is not my thing. Iäm a teadrinker and I drink it a lot. A while ago I found an absolutely wonderful tearoom called Zhao Zhou in Budapest. This place is beautiful, minimalistic yet cosy and inviting teashop where you can also have a nice cup or a whole pot of high quality tea and beautiful & delicious small tea cakes.

Kaikki mut tuntevat ja varmasti myös osa teistä blogini lukijoista tietää, että mulle ei kahvi maistu. Olen armoton teenlipittäjä. Vähän aikaa sitten löysin aivan ihanan teehuoneen Budapestista nimeltään Zhao Zhou. Paikka on kauniin minimalistisesti, kodikkaasti ja kutsuvasti sisustettu teekauppa, jossa voi myös nauttia kupillisen tai pannullisen huippulaadukkaita teelajikkeita sekä kauniita ja herkullisia teekakkusia.

Wild Flower Bar

I have been passing by this place several times and every time it has caught my attention but this was the very first time I popped in. 

Wild Flower Bar is such a lovely small store, and not only for flowers but other lovely stuff as well - soaps, hand cream, scented candles, room sprays, pots, teas and totes & bags.

Wild Flower Bar on aivan ihastuttava pieni putiikki. Eikä se oel pelkästään kukkakauppa vaan myynissä on kaikenlaista muutakin kaunista - saippioita, käsivoiteita, tuoksukynttilöitä, huonetuoksuja, ruukkuja, teetä sekä kasseja ja laukkuja.

Möbel Kunst - A Vintage Heaven

Wow, look at this place! Möbelkunst is a real vintage heaven! A 1.000m2 of design classics under one roof.

A few days ago needed a chair and some other props for a photo shooting and popped in to Möbelkunst in 10th district, Budapest. If I was a millionaire, I would buy all my furniture here. I just love those vintage and industrial pieces. This is not a cheap place to shop but you can also rent pieces with 20% of the sales price. Of course, renting is not an option if you want to have a piece to yourself.

There are a lot of film studios and international film-making in Budapest. Möbelkunst is one of those places where they can rent authentic vintage pieces.    

Vautsi, katsokaa nyt tätä paikkaa! Möbelkunst on todellakin vintage-taivas! 1.000m2 design-klassikoita saman katon alla.

Jokunen päivä sitten olin etsimässä sopivaa tuolia ja muuta kuvausrekvisiittaa ja piipahdin Möbelkunstissa Budapestin 10. kaupunginosassa. Jos olisin miljonääri, ostaisin kaikki kalusteet täältä. Siis niin ihanaa vintage- ja industriaalikamaa. Ei mikään halpa paikka ostoksille, mutta täältä voi myös vuokrata sisustuskamaa maksamalla 20%:a ostohinnasta.  Vuokraaminen ei tietenkään ole vaihtoehto silloin kun haluaa tuotteen itselleen, mutta rekvisiitan hankinnassa mainio mahdollisuus.

Budapestissa on paljon elokuvastudioita ja täällä myös tehdään paljon kansainvälisiä leffoja. Möbelkunst on yksi niistä paikoista joista studiot käyvät vuokraamassa autenttista rekvisiittaa.

Studio Fabrika

Last Saturday there was a brunch and open day at Fabrika in Budapest. Fabrika is a vintage furniture and decor shop at Szondi utca in the 6th district. The place is gorgeous! You can feel the vintage and modern retro vibes there! I would love to make it as a home - brick walls, cement floors, big windows, high ceilings. It used to be a grocery store and after that a workshop for the psychiatric clinic before the Fabrika girls made it their workshop where they restore and update old vintage pieces, and also sell them there. 

I have to say that they do a really good job there - all of the pieces are beautifully restored with excellent taste. It would be great to decorate or stage an apartment with these vintage furniture, lamps, mirrors, hooks, posters... 

(FI) Viime lauantaina Fabrikassa oli avoimet ovet ja brunssitarjoilu. fabrika on vintage-huonekaluihin ja sisustukseen erikoistunut liike Budapestin 6. kaupunginosassa Szondi utcalla. Aivan ihastuttava paikka! Olisi ihanaa päästä tekemään siitä asunto - tiiliseinää, betonilattiaa, isoja ikkunoita ja korkeat tilat. paikka toimi aikinaan elintarvikekauppana ja sen jälkeen psykiatrisen klinikan terapeuttisena työskentelypajana kunnes Fabrikan tytöt ottivat tilan haltuun ja tekivät siitä itselleen verstaan ja kaupan. Tila on ihanteellinen paikka entisöidä ja päivittää vintage-kalusteita ja laittaa ne esille myyntiin. 

Täytyy sanoa, että tytöt osaavat hommansa - kaikki tuotteet on kauniisti ja hyvällä maulla entisöityjä. Olisi upeaa saada sisustaa tai stailata asunto näillä vintage huonekaluilla, lampuilla, peileillä, naulakoilla, julisteilla...

Madison Perfumery

(EN)I feel naked if I go out without sprinkling perfume at least a bit. I don't know if it's just a habit or i need to smell something nice around myself. Some people know exactly what their favourite scent is and they can even say the name and brand of the perfume they like most. I'm not that kind of person. I have several bottles of perfumes in my bathroom shelves and choosing the right one depends on the mood. My favourite scents are green and floral, but I can't say what is my favourite perfume. This morning I had a couple of spritzes of Jo Malone's limited edition White Lilac & Rhubarb.

There's an absolutely gorgeous perfumery on Andrássy út in Budapest. The place is called Madison Perfumery. There used to be an old pharmacy and that's why there're still beautiful old details in the premises, for example a gorgeous wooden staircase. 

The selection of perfumes at Madison Perfumery is pretty impressive, and most of the fragrances are available in Hungary only there. If you need any help for choosing your scent, ask for Máté. He knows everything about perfumes!

PS. This is also the only place in Hungary where the lovely products of Australian brand Aesop are sold!

(FI) Jos menen ulos ilman että suihkautan hajuvettä, tuntuu kuin astuisin ovesta ulos nakuna. En tiedä onko kyseessä opittu tapa vai kaipaanko vaan yksinkertaisesti miellyttävää tuoksupilveä ympärilläni. Jotkut ihmiset tietävät täsmälleen mikä on heidän lempparituoksunsa nimeä ja brändiä myöten. Itse en kuulu siihen ihmisryhmään. Kylppärini hyllyiltä löytyy useampi pullo hajuvesiä ja valitsen sieltä tuoksun ihan vaan mielialan mukaan. Lemppareitani ovat vihreät ja kukkaistuoksut. En kuitenkaan pysty sanomaan mikä niistä olisi ehdoton suosikkini. Tänään aamulla pirskautin Jo Malonen muutaman vuoden takaista kausituoksua valkoisista sireeneistä ja raparperista tehtyä kausituoksua White Lilac & Rhubarb.

Andrássy útilla Budapestissa on aivan uskomattoman upea parfyymikauppa nimeltään Madison Perfumery. Tässä liikehuoneistossa toimi ennen vanha apteekki ja tästä syystä siellä vieläkin on paljon vanhoja yksityiskohtia kuten upea puuportaikko.

Madison Perfumeryn tuoksuvalikoima on melko vaikuttava. Monet näistä tuoksuista on saatavilla Unkarissa ainoastaan täältä. Jos tarvitset apua hajuveden valinnassa, kysy Máté'a!  Hän tietää kaiken parfyymeistä!

PS.Tämä on myös ainoa paikka Unkarissa, jossa myydään australialaisen Aesop'n ihania tuotteita!
