It's time to change new sheets for my calendar. I'm still so old-fashioned that I need a 'proper' paper agenda where I can write down all the important events with a pen. I have had this red Vernis ring binder day planner by Louis Vuitton for years. Very practical!
Somehow it seems that year 2016 was full of unexpected incidents. We had brexit, historic US election, terror attacks, deaths of so many well-known persons - just to mention a few. My own year went very fast, too fast. There were lot of happy moments and steps towards my goals, but still more steps needed to reach them. In 2017 will make short-term plans how to get closer and finally achive those goals.
Just read an intersting blog post by Smart Woman about new year's resolutions and how we always make them but never actually fulfill them. Here's a list of her tips:
1. Be realistic
2. Do it for you
3. Create steps
4. Set rewards
5. Ask for support
6. Be strong
7. Don't give up
8. Document your progress

Let's hope this year will bring lots of joy & happiness for all of us!
(FI) On tullut aika vaihtaa uudet sivut kalenteriin.
1. Ole realistinen
2. Tee se itsellesi
3. Aseta etappeja
4. Palkitse
5. Pyydä tukea
6. Ole vahva
7. Älä anna periksi
8. Dokumentoi edistyksesi

Toivotaan, että uusi vuosi toisi rutkasti iloa meille kaikille!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) Happy new year for you too!!!
DeleteIt is definitely important to be realistic and set goals you know you want to and can achieve!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Itäs easy to make some totally abstract resolutions but no realistic goals.
DeleteI like that advice. I think holding yourself accountable and having support helps a lot. Big changes are a lot of work!
ReplyDeleteYou're right - big changes don't happen without hard work.
DeleteYes, that's good advice from Smart Women. Small steps lead to bigger ones and it never pays to be too hard on yourself when it comes to new years resolutions.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I found intresting and hopefully I can follow that advice too.
DeleteGreat advice from Smart Women. Putting in work now pays off later. I don't make New year's resolutions, but I set weekly goals for myself that I can accomplish!! Way more satisfying and less disappointment if I don't complete everything on my list.

Weekly goals sound fantastic! That's th way I should start working too.
DeleteI think those tips are awesome, it's important to set goals that are attainable so as to not end up disappointing yourself before the year ends. These are all important when you're planning your goals for the year ahead.
ReplyDeleteSo often i have ended up dissapointed to myself. Hopefully this year I finaly keep my resolutions.
DeleteI Love your LV planner! I'm like you and need paper to keep me organised. I hope you have a lovely NY xx

Thanks! This planner have been with me for so long that I can't imagine changing it to anything else.
DeleteI love this planner and need one - I am so bad at asking for support and that has to be the very thing I do more this year
ReplyDeleteThanks! That's a great thing to improve.
Delete2016 was interesting to say the least but I am expecting great things in 2017. I am also a paper planner person. If I don't write it down I don't remember it.
ReplyDeleteSame thing here :D I'm also expecting great things happenin in 2017.
DeleteThank you, Happy New year to you too! I plan to have not many goals this 2017, jut focus on one thing at a time. Wish you all success and Happiness in 2017!
ReplyDeleteThat's a wise thing to do! Focusing on one thing makes sense.
DeleteVery good and realistic advice to start a new year. Hope yours is great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Need to be realistic this time :)

DeleteHappy New Year! We had a lot of happiness and troubles in 2016 as a country. Personally, I think of 2016 as the year I went to Disney for the first time and when I got engaged! Happy memories! PS: Love your planner.
ReplyDeleteWow, great to hear you had such fabulous things happening last year :)
DeleteWow this is awesome! I do have a wallet and the colour is same as yours. My husband bought that for me from Italy.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I love that red!
