Summer rain is actually quite nice. It makes the nature green and fresh. Love the scent of a summer rain. And it's nice to have a little walk out there in the rain when the weather is still quite warm.

These pics are taken in Seurasaari where I had my little walk. Seurasaari is an island in Helsinki. Nice place, no cars and there's an easy access via bridge.

Andante - Have A Cup Of Tea!

Just by accident popped in to this cafe at Freda in Helsinki. A place full of retro vibes. It was a pretty chilly outside - no rain but hefty wind. Typical Finnish summer weather. So a cup of tea sounded perfect. Had delicious white tea which was served in a glass carafe. There're also gorgeous looking cakes but as I was on my way for lunch decided to skip all the sweets - not an easy task for me.

PS. There's also a flower shop in the corner.

Photo Exhibitions in Budapest & Helsinki

Whether you are in Budapest or in Helsinki right now, there is an interesting photo exhibition in both cities. 

In Budapest you can see a joint exhibition of three Hungarian artist Anikó Robits, Réka Bohus and Ágnes Eperjesi. Look like paintings but they are very detailed photos. Beautiful compositions! The exhibition takes place in TOBE Gallery. It's a small gallery owned by Bea Puskás and Tomas Opitz at Herzen utca 6 in XIII district in Budapest. 

I got totally fascinated by the 2 photos with extreme closed-up Bauhaus details taken in Berlin by Aniko Robitz.  

The Triangle exhibition is open until July 6.

Worth visiting!

In Helsinki there's an exhibition called "Kymmenen valoa" (= ten lights) by a group called Ryhmä 10. Interesting photos by 10 different photographers in Kamera Gallery. The place is in the premises of Kameraseura at Lastenkodinkuja 1 in a short walking distance from the very centre of the city.

"Circles of life" by Johanna Friskberg got my attention immediately. It's a beautifully displayed collage of black and white photos all with something round in them. A round form represents continuity, eye follows it continuously.

The exhibition is on until June 22,so hurry up!

Here are some snapshots that I took earlier this week of the spring-ish Helsinki. There's no ice any more and some early-bird flowers are blooming. Soon it will be green everywhere!
