Why To Have Blueberries In Your Smoothie?

Thursday, September 1, 2016

I have had busy mornings this week, but luckily there have still been time to make a smoothie. Actually I made already on Monday morning a whole jug of blueberry smoothie so it's been easy to grab a glass of smoothie straight from the fridge every morning.

There're still lot of blueberries for sale on the local market place , although I guess it's quite the end of the season. i like to buy them as long as they are available.

Why do I like to add blueberries in my smoothies?

First of all I love the taste of blueberries and secondly they are considered to be super food. This small dark blue berry has a lot of health benefits. It's a good source of vitamin K and vitamin C, manganese, copper and fibre.

Health facts of blueberries:
  • maintaining healthy bones
  • Lowering blood preasure
  • Managing diabetes
  • Warding off heart disease
  • Preventing cancer
  • Improving mental health
  • Healthy digestion
  • Weight loss
  • and this one is interesting: Fighting wrinkles!

I found these health benefits on Medical News Today.
