 Back in Paprika Land
and suffering from jet lag.
- difficult to keep eyes open during the day,
but not at night...
 Visited WAMP Spajz

Let the cake begin by Oven Heaven
 Brownies by Su/Akrakadabra Chocolade Kft
 Man with a white van,
always dangerous combination in traffic
but this time it was nicely parked
and refreshments're sold from the van

Meals At The Hotel

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Breakfast was served at the buffet restaurant
- it was ok, the view was perfect,
a bit too crowded as everyone arrived at the same time
 Lunch and dinner were served
at Thalassa a la carte restaurant
 As in Greece
Greek food is a must!
Lunch at Thalassa restaurant
- Greek salad, tzatziki...
 Zucchini balls
 Cheese saganaki

Sometimes had lunch at Ammos Beach Bar
- Greek salad
You could also take a lunch box to the beach or by the pool
 Clun sandwich with fries
- not so Greek, though
 Lobster moussaka
at Thalassa a la carte
- extremely delicious!
Squids stuffed with feta, capers, sun-dried tomato
- huge portion, 2 squids would've been enough

There's also a buffet restaurant
- had it once, but it wasn't nothing special
- most of the nights ate out of the hotel in Kardamena

A la Carte

Monday, August 29, 2011

 Aperatives in the hotel lobby
of La Contessa
 There was buffet dinner again
but asked if possible to have a la carte instead
- maitre d'hotel was surprised for the question,
"of course it's possible!"
- so it would have been possible every night,
but no-one told that...
Beef carpacchio with pesto and grated parmesan
- excellent!
- absolutely perfect!
- great start for the Saturday dinner
 Roasted trout (pisztarang) with almonds
and vegetables
- the texture of the meat was very good,
and taste was good too
- pisztarang is a local fish from the nearby streams
- roasted vegetables were tasty and crispy,
but the creamy potatoes were too much
and they were actually sliced (very aldente)
potatoes with cheece

Would have taken some cheese and dessert as well
but nobody came to asked...
so after waiting for a while,
check, please!
Gorgeous chandelier!

Peppers

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Had brunch at Marriott's Peppers last Sunday
- the hors d'euvre and main buffet were
very much the same as usual
but the dessert table had lots of new delicasies

Traditional Hungarian Cuisine

Sunday, August 21, 2011

On Friday evening had a reservation for
Kehli vendeglö in Obuda
- it's an old traditional Hungarian restaurant

To start with a cold plate of Hungarian delicasies
- goose liver, salami, stuffed paprika, curd meet, pork
- this plate was for 4 persons
 Töltött kaposzta
(= stuffted cabbage roll)
- wasn't for me, it's delicious but
extremely heavy
Instead had grilled chicken breast with raw vegetables
and joghurt sauce
- a bit boring but perfect for me!

Every night there's a band playing gipsy music
- these men have been playing in Kehli for ages!

 Hungarian cheese plate for 4
- emmental, camenber, smoked cheese, trappista,
blue cheese, cream cheese
 And the music goes on!
 Palacsinta
- crepe filled with blueberry jam
 Gypsy violin

Lemon sorbet to end the meal

Gusto Burger

Friday, August 19, 2011

Tried the Hungarian fast food place
Gusto Burger the other day
The veggie burger was ok,
infact the burger was very tasty with
sun-dried tomatoes
but there was absolutely too much
ketchup and sauce
