Wallpaper Crush - Fuji Emerald by Khroma

Thursday, October 26, 2017

green leaves wallpaper

I like to keep the walls neutral, preferably white, sometimes light grey or greyge. Well, even black goes. So adding some colourful wallpaper is quite extreme for me. Anyways, in this studio apartment is was very clear straight from the beginning that some colour would be needed to create a nice & cosy atmosphere.

As it was important to keep the flat neutral - not too feminine nor masculine - I chose green for the accent colour. Green is the colour of nature and balance. It brings freshness and energy, and it is relaxing as well.

So jungle it is!
At BambuszMánia in Budapest there's a wide variety of green, leafy wallpapers to choose from. I picked up this Fuji Emerald by Belgian company called Khroma. I like that this wallpaper has different hues of green and different shapes of leaves.

This wallpaper is placed on the back side of wardrobes, which are dividing and sheltering the bedroom area. Now the first thing you see while entering the flat is this wallpaper.

One roll was enough to cover 2m x 2,1m area. As some small pieces were left, I decided to use those parts and framed them. Now they are among my photos and part of the wall art. The whole apartment has  a touch of green leaves.

Värikkään tapetin käyttö on siis aikas uskalista omalta osaltani.

Tapetti laitettiin vaatekaappien takapuolelle.

Yhdestä rullasta riitti hyvin 2m x 2,1m kokoiselle alueelle.

Wallpaper for A Corridor

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

How about to pick up a statement wallpaper to a corridor?

This is still the same student flat with three bedrooms which I've been introducing to you now in several postings. There's a long corridor between the bedrooms and bathroom. Instead of having white paint on every wall, one wall was covered with a wallpaper full of trees. It's pretty neutral, kind of organic & ecological looking and matches well with the whole flat.

found this tree pattern wallpaper at Wallpaperdirect. It's from Albany and called Treescape.

What kind of wallpaper would you choose for a corridor?

PS. You can find the three student bedroom here, here and here!

Master Bedroom

Thursday, April 21, 2016

After showing the upstairs guestroom options in an earlier post, here comes the master bedroom locateted downstairs. The couple wanted something light, simple, airy and Scandinavian. The walls were painted and one of them was wallpapered by Cole and Son's Woods. Actually only the walls were left during the reno and everything else was demolished and built again with better materials. The house was originally built in the 50's and some adjustements were made in the 80's so the condition wasn't the best possible. A heated floor was installed and all the windows in the entire house was changed.

There's nothing extra in this bedroom. It's kept simple and functional with big wardrobes with sliding doors. The colour scheme is greyish with a hint of deep golden yellow, and of course, lots of white.

ps. this was the starting point:

Here you can see some other parts of the downstairs while it was still in progress, click!

ps. always remember the importance of home insuarance! Just found out that Allianz has a great option, check it out here.
