Mini Vacay In Split

Monday, May 1, 2017

How about a mini vacay in Split?

Split is the second largest city in Croatia. It's located by the Adriatic Sea. From Budapest it takes about 8 hours by car to drive there along the highway.

The Old Town of Split is so charming with plenty of old buildings from the Roman era and narrow alleys. In the spring time there were not so many tourists yet, so it was easy to walk around and popped into museums, galleries, cafes... The weather was mild & pleasant, mainly sunny all the time.

Take a tour by looking my snapshots! Perhaps you will start to plan your own trip to Split!

By the way the food is excellent there. I couldn't get enough of the grilled calamari. And it seemed to be a shoe shop in every corner!

Would you like to spend a couple of days in Split?

Postcards From Split

The spring was already there in Split in March when I had a chance to visit this historic city. Split is the second largest city in Croatia and largest on Dalmatian coast. It is home to one of the best preserved Roman remains in the world, the Diocletian Palace. The old town includes more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards and galleries are shops, bars, cafes, hotels... Great place to spend a day, just by walking around and exploring the narrow alleys and sit for a coffee or lunch. Btw, had one of the best seafood risotto ever at the terrace of restaurant Bajamonti.

Fact corner:
The population of Split is app. 178.000 inhabitants.
