How about a mini vacay in Split?
Split is the second largest city in Croatia. It's located by the Adriatic Sea. From Budapest it takes about 8 hours by car to drive there along the highway.
The Old Town of Split is so charming with plenty of old buildings from the Roman era and narrow alleys. In the spring time there were not so many tourists yet, so it was easy to walk around and popped into museums, galleries, cafes... The weather was mild & pleasant, mainly sunny all the time.
Take a tour by looking my snapshots! Perhaps you will start to plan your own trip to Split!
By the way the food is excellent there. I couldn't get enough of the grilled calamari. And it seemed to be a shoe shop in every corner!
Would you like to spend a couple of days in Split?
I've visited Split 2 years ago, it's nice :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a great place to relax, walk around, eat well and get the feeling of history.
DeleteObsessed with you falling pink glitter mouse by the way! By the looks and sounds of things, this was amazing mini Vacay, you've made me really wanna visit Split! x
ReplyDeleteLots of love,

Thanks, Marina Rosie! Btw, i have had that pink glitter feature for such a long time that I don't even recognize it any more :D
DeleteIf I went to Split, it would be more than a mini-vacay for me. I would want to visit the entire country!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Croatia has so much to offer! Anyways, I'm happy I could experience at least a tiny part of it :)
DeleteI feel like I would plan to go for a weekend and end up staying a lifetime as that is the kind of vibe that split is giving me. Gorgeous photos x
ReplyDeleteYu're so right, Ana, the whole atmosphere of Split was so special that I could've spent there a lifetime :)
DeleteWOW what a beautiful place! I have never even heard of the place, let alone visited, but now I am off to google holidays there!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, great that I could intrduce a totally new holiday destination for you :)
DeleteThose shoes though! I wish I could visit places like this. Time to save some money and vacation days lol.
ReplyDeleteExactly! The place was full of shoe boutiques!
DeleteI wanted to visit Split couple of years ago but eventually we didn`t go. Seeing your photos I regret that decision.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity - this was really a place worth visiting! Next time then :)
DeleteWhat an interesting name for a place. I love the peace and quiet and it's definitely perfect for people who would like to get away from the stress of the noisy city.
ReplyDeleteNo idea where the name comes from, but most probably it has nothing to do with the English word 'split'. There are nice quiet spots to just sit and relax.
DeleteI love the narrow alleys of Split, I find them very charming and romantic. The calamari everywhere sounds perfect if you want an exotic lunch (as you can't really find good calamari in a city that's not at the seaside).
ReplyDeleteExactly, you need to eat calamari at the seaside. Unfortunately I live so far away from the sea so it's not my everyday meal.
DeleteThis place is amazing and it would be nice to visit it someday! I have never thought about visiting it before but after seeing your post, I am very tempted to hop on a plane right away. I'd love to experience Split in person.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you find my post so tempting :) Hopefully you can hop in a plane in the near future and fly to Split!
DeleteWow looks like a wonderful place! All those beautiful pictures have given me serious wanderlust!
ReplyDeleteYeah on my list! I'm a small town girl so this is perfect haha because I especially enjoyed walking. Awesome snapshots too!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go to Split! My husband I are such suckers for this kind of architecture and we love walking in towns with narrow winding streets. Maybe a picnic by the water too?
ReplyDeletethat place looks very peaceful and charming! I would love to visit there some day soon : ) thanks for sharing as I put it in my bucket list of many places I'd like to go : )
