I'm not sure if it's true but it feels that there're even more Xmas lights all over city - both on Pest & Buda side - this year.

Finland might be the ultimate Christmas land but when it comes to Xmas lights even Budapest beats it big time.

Boulevard of Xmas Lights

 Before leaving to Finland took some pics of beautifully lighted  Andrassy ut in Budapest. Only snow is missing...

Outside the Opera House there're some props of the Nutcracker ballet. Nice idea!

Light & More

 Had a chance to visit Isku showroom to hear about the latest in design. The showroom on Fabianinkatu in Helsinki is more about office designing but there's only a thin line between home and office furnishing nowadays.

Design is not just a pretty object but a functional and consumer friendly concept.

 After eating lots of delicious organic food from the buffet had some problems to choose which dessert to pick... surprise surprise took both!

There was also a Finnish designer Tapio Anttila from Lahti 

who had design this Tip light.  

Looks perfect and so functional!

Let There Be Light

 Made a light installation at home.

My bookshelf is ready for xmas.

Got the idea from tv while watching 

Swedish detective series Maria Wern. 

At Maria's home there was xmas lights in her bookshelf.

Changed the Kartell lamps for more traditional ones for reading.

 Found the lamps at Pure Home,

which is selling lovely interior accessories 

and furniture as well including

Bloomingville, House Doctors, Hubsch...

I like to play with PicMonkey...

Shades Of Red

 Bought some new lights in different shades of red 

to create a cosy atmosphere at home.

Just let them hang on Eero Aarnio's Tree

in our dining room.

The lights are available at Goa in Mom Park, Budapest.

to create some sunshine

- it works by remote control,

just by touching it you can create

Christmas tree!

- sort of early but

wanted to have a xmas feeling already now

- this year's colour is silver

Put some led lights in between the windows

- well, not very cosy...
- will change them to

normal, more yellowish lights later,

now too tired with all that decoration work

Gorgeous white roses!

- they were not on display in the flower shop...

- the florist led to the cold room

in the back of the shop

with full of fresh flowers!
