(EN)Autumn is definitely on its way even though the weather is still very summerish and super warm - at least here in Budapest.

It feels that home decor is not playing so big part during the summer season but when autumn arrives it's so nice to make little changes at home and make it cosy with some new colours & items. Adding new cushions or just changing the covers of them makes a big difference. It's so easy to create cosy, fabulous atmosphere with textiles.

Also bathroom needs updating which won't break the bank. Changing towels to new ones in autumn hues makes the trick.

Now there are gorgeous shades of plum, heather and forest greens at HM Home's autumn collection. I just love them all!

(FI)Syksy tekee väistämättä tuloaan, vaikka kelit ovat vielä todella kesäiset ja helteiset - ainakin täällä Budapestissa.

Kesäisin ei pahemmin jaksa panostaa kodin sisustukseen, mutta kun syksy saapuu on kiva tehdä kotiin pieniä muutoksia ja lisätä kodikkuutta sekä uusia värejä. 

Tyynyjen lisääminen tai niiden päällisten vaihtaminen tekee ihmeitä sisustukseen. Tekstiileillä on helppo luoda kodikas ja upea tunnelma.

Kylppäriäkin on kiva pikkuisen uudistaa pienellä budjetilla. Pyyhkeiden vaihtamisella syksyisempiin sävyihin tämä onnistuu helposti ja edullisesti.

Nyt löytyy aivan ihania luumun, kanervan ja metsän vihreän sävyjä HM Homen syysmalistosta. Tykkään niistä kaikista!

 (HU)Az ősz feltartóztathatatlanul közeledik, bár az időjárás még mindég nagyon nyáriasan meleg-legalábbis itt Budapesten.

Nyáron talán nem bolygattuk meg túlságosan a lakásunk berendezését és a színeit, de az ősz beköszöntével érdemes tenni néhány apróbb változtatást, hogy egy kis melegséget, új színeket csempészhessünk otthonunkba. Pár új párnával vagy a régiek huzatainak lecserélésével például máris csodákat tehetünk. Az anyagok, textilek könnyen otthonos hangulatot teremtenek.

A fürdőszobát is megújíthatjuk viszonylag kis befektetéssel. Például cseréljük a törölközők színeit ősziesebbre, így olcsón és gyorsan érhetjük el a kívánt változást.

A HM Home őszi  kollekciójában gyönyörű szilva, hanga és sötétzöld árnyalatokból válogathattok! Nekem mind nagyon tetszik!

Dark Green Accents For Student Home

A couple of days ago I already showed one room of this 3 bedroom flat for students. The one I introduced was with yellow accents, this one - the second bedroom - is with dark green accents. Otherwise the colour palette is similar; white walls, ligth beige upholstery & curtainsand a grey armchair. 

All of these 3 rooms have a double bed, adjustable desk, office chair and big wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors.

That Light Blue Armchair

She wanted to have a bright & functional living area, which would be suitable for children to play and for her to read and watch TV. There're plenty of windows so the light is coming nicely in. Brightness and simplicity are the key words in this home.  

The starting point was the existing pieces of furniture - light blue armchair and floor lamp. During the project she found old pieces of a book shelf in her parents' garage. As the whole shelving system was light-looking, had a connection to her with its history and it  was a kind of look-alike of the Swedish Sring shelving - it was an easy decicion to bring it in. The metal support parts just needed a new layer of white paint. The plywood shelves we left as they were - all a bit diffent natural shade which gives a sort of character to the whole system.

Space is sometimes a luxury, and when you don't have much of it, you are tasked with figuring out ways to make it work. It's important to reach the full potential of a living room and of the whole home.

  

My basic idea in home decor is that there should always be some crispy white and a hint of black to sharpen the space. Then you can add any colour(s) you like, and the result will look fresh. This room is a good example of that.
