Sain siis mahdollisuuden viettää kolme päivää ja kaksi yötä Conil de la Fronterassa Cadizin lähellä Andaluciassa. Kiitos siitä Sirpalle, joka toimi mainiona oppaana ja Katjalle, joka tarjosi majoituksen.
Pienessä merenrantakaupungissa Conilissa on samantapaista charmia kuin yhdessä suosikkikohteessani Slovenian Piranissa. Kummatkaan eivät ole pelkästään turistikohteita, vaan niissä asutaan ihan oikeasti vuoden ympäri ja vuosikymmenestä toiseen. Vaikka turismi onkin molemmille tärkeää, ei näitä pikkukaupunkeja ole pilattu massiivisilla hotellikomplekseilla. Majoitusta löytyy pienistä hostelleista ja b&b paikoista.
Tulopäivänä Coniliin tutustuimme kaupunkiin ja seuraavan päivän aamuna lähdimme kävelemään kohti El Palmarin rantaa. Rannan suuntaisesti menee rauhallinen hiekkatie keskellä valtavaa nummea. Valitsimme tämän tien aina El Palmariin asti. Kuivuudesta huolimatta tietä reunusti upean väriset kukat. Takaisin päin Coniliin kävelimme rannalla veden rajassa.
El Palmar ei ole kylä eikä asutuskeskus, vaan ranta jossa tienvarressa on vieri vieressä hyvätasoisia rantaravintoloita ja -baareja sekä kivoja kauppoja, niin ja tietenkin surffilautavuokraamoita, surffauskouluja, joogastudioita ja vielä skeittiramppeja.
Jo heti alkutaipaleella matkaan liittyi pikkukoira, joka seurasi ja opasti aina rannalle asti. Kun olimme käyneet juomassa, syömässä ja kaupat oli kierrelty, tulimme rantaan ja jostain se hauva putkahti taas luoksemme ja opasti Coniliin asti. Ei mitään hajua mistä koira tuli, kenen se oli ja miksi se valitsi juuri meidät!
I had this chance to stay three dys and 2 nights in Conil de la Fronterassa near Cadiz in Andalucia. Huge thanks to my friend Sirpa, who was a great guide and Katja, who accommodated us.
The small seaside town Conil has similar charm as one of my favourite destinations Piran in Slovenia. Neither of these two towns are not just for tourists but have people living there all year around, decades after decade. Even though tourism is essential for both of them, the towns are not ruined with massive hotel complexes. You can find accommondation in hostels and b&b's.
On the first day we explored the town and the following morning we headed towards El Palmarin. There is a sandy road in the middle of heath parallel the beach. We chose to walk this quiet road to El Palmar. Despite the dryness there were colourful flowers on both sides of the road. back to Conil we walked along the beach.
El Palmar is not a village but a beach with a road full of good quality eateries, bars, boutiques, and of course, surf rentals & schools, yoga places and even skating ramps - all with uktimate beach vibes.
Funny thing happened - already in the beginning of our walk a small dog started following and kind of guiding us all the way to El Palmar. After spending some time browsing in the shops and having some refreshments, we went to the beach and suddenly the doggy was there again and guided us back to Conil. No idea where it came from, to whom it belonged and why it had chosen us!
