Salmon Pink Decor

Sunday, March 12, 2017

Pale pink has always been one of my favourite colours. Salmon pink has that special vibe and looks kind of vintage, chic and modern at the same time.

I like to keep the walls and main pieces of furniture in neutral hues such as white, grey and black. Those tones make it easy to change the atmosphere of a room with textiles.

Btw, have you noticed that this season there's a new colour of hyacint - orange? It's more like salmon pink. Quite fascinating!

(FI) Vaaleanpunainen on aina kuulunut mun suosikkiväreihin, erityisesti hailakka vaaleanpunainen.

Näin huoneen tunnelmaa on helppo muuttaa pelkillä tekstiileillä.

Oletko muuten huomannut, että hyasintti on saanut täysin uuden sävyn tänä keväänä - nimittäin oranssin? Mielestäni se on kuitenkin enemmän lohenpunainen. Aika jännä!

A bit earlier I tried pale green in my living room. Click here if you like to see it!

Jokunen aika sitten kokeilin vaalean vihreän sävyjä olohuoneeseeni. Klikkaa tästä jos haluat kurkistaa miltä se näytti!

Housing Fair 2016 In Seinäjoki, Part 4

Sunday, July 24, 2016

So far it's been mainly homes with very neutral tones, but there are some more colourful interiors as well in the Housing Fair 2016 in Seinäjoki. This house called Tupien Tupa has several different hues of pink from pale shades to rich & deep ones. It also has a sort of modern retro vibes, which makes it very cosy.

Do you like different hues of pink?

Marjaniemi Cottage

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

My cousin has this lovely cottage allotment in Marjaniemi, Helsinki.  They bought it last September so this is their first summer there. I guess this cottage allotment is a kind of Finnish thing. It allows people to enjoy village lifestyle in a city. Fantastic idea and it's great that the tradition is still alive after 100 years. For example Marjaniemi allotment was founded in 1946.

All the houses are app. 33m2 and there's garden around each house. Not too huge yet bigger than a balcony, so there's space for trees and for your own vegetable garden.

Next step here is to paint the cottage in blue. Actually you can find the exact colour in one of the pics below - it's the tone of the post box.

Too Much - Aroma Vaporizer

Monday, May 25, 2015

It's so pink! Some time ago got this Lexon's aroma vaporizer "Too Much" design by Karim Rashid.

This pink device combines multiple functions in one compact object, it is an air humidifier, an aroma vaporizer and LED light as well.

Just need to add some water and a few drops of aroma - I use Bergamot oil by Muji. Gives a mild & fresh scent. It has an auto shut off feature and automatically shuts off when it runs out of water.

Couldn't resist of taking some snapshots of my lovely peonies...

Today it's a bank holiday here in Hungary as there's not only Whitsunday but also Whitmonday. In Hungary this holiday is called "pünkösd" and peony is called "pünkösd rózsa".
