Central Park NYC

Autumn In Central Park

Nyt kun jännitysnäytelmä rapakon takana on vihdoin ratkennut, ajattelin tehdä virtuaalikävelyn New Yorkin Central Parkissa. Syksyiset ruskan sävyt auringonpaisteessa raikastavat ja samalla rauhoittavat mieltä sekä tuovat uutta inspiraatiota alkavaan viikkoon.

-----

As the day looks so sunny in many ways, let's make a virtual walk in Central Park. Autumn foliage gives some boost for the new week.

Central Park

-----

Do you remember the times when Central Park was dangerous and not a place to spend your day? I hadn't yet visited New York City at those times. I remember while working in Miami how my Danish tour guide colleagues were telling how careful and cautious you had to be out there. Btw, South Beach Miami wasn't the safest place in early 90's either.

Central Park

A rectangular part in the middle of Manhattan was allocated for the park. The construction works of Central Park started in 1858. The park is 4km long and the width is almost one kilometre. When you walk around the park it feels much longer, at least for me. That's probably because I never choose the shortest or the straightest way.
Btw, I always get lost in Central Park. Fortunately the 27-story San Remo building on Westside can be seen almost in any corner of the park. It's a great landmark and helps you to figure out your whereabouts .

Vuonna 1985 tehtiin 15-vuotissuunnitelma puiston remontointia varten. Tätä varten perustettiin yksityinen rahasto.

n the 70's the park decayed. There was no money for the maintenance. In the 80's the whole screenery faded. There were garbage everywhere, graffiti on the walls, meadows were dry and dusty, playgrounds nd benches were in decay. Finally in 1985 a plan was done for there next 15 years to reconstruct the park. A private fund was establish to finance the project.

Autumn in Central Park

Central Park on varsin mieletön paikka keskellä kaupunkia. Yksinkertaisesti mahtava paikka!

Central Park is amazing place in the middle of a city. You can have a walk in a traditional park style among the flowers but also walk along a nature trail in a forest environment. Simply an amazing place!
