I'm a teaholic. I drink all kind of teas - green, white & black teas - and I drink them all day long. Especially in the afternoon I love to have a cup of Earl Grey tea with milk. I used to add soya milk for years, then I changed it to almond milk, and now recently I've been using oat milk. But not just any oat milk - it must be the barista edition of Oatly!
What is oat milk?
Oat milk is made of oats (of course!) that are soaked in water, blended, and then strained with a cheesecloth or a special nut milk bag. While the leftover oat pulp has the bulk of the fiber and most of the protein in the oats, the liquid that results has some of the nutrients in oats.
Oats absorb water more easily than nuts, so the texture is creamier that nut milk without added ingredients.
Oat milk is the clear winner when it comes to fibre. There's 0g fibre in cow's milk, 1g in almond and soya milk, and 2g in oat milk per serving.
Oats also contain vitamin B (thiamin & folate), magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc and copper.
Already the package looks great, absolutely fantastic design. Simple colours, simple pic, lot of texts, but made it in a way that you want to read all of them. Who can resist Swedish design!
The oat milk itself is based on liquid oats which means it isn't overly sweet or excessively heavy. It is fully foamable, and that's what makes it my favourite. Black tea with milk froth is just heavenly.
Pukka's Gorgeous Earl Grey tea is made of Dunsandel black tea, Darjeeling black tea, bergamot essential oil flavour, lavender flower and lemon essential oil flavour.
Have you tried oat milk?
