Finnish Summer

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

It was a rainy morning - like most of the summer mornings in Finland. No, that's not true. It can be warm and sunny too, but on that particular morning when I wanted to go out and have a walk in Seurasaari, a small island in Helsinki, it was rainy and the temperature was really low. Anyway, it was nice to walk there, have some fresh air and snap some photos. So here are a few pics of Finnish nature in summertime in Helsinki.

In Seurasaari there's an open-air museum and usually loads of tourists around especially Japanese, now it was pretty quiet just a couple of people for their morning run. There's a car park in the front of the wooden bridge leading to the island. As you can see from the pics there's also a beach, but as you can imagine the water is not luke warm.

Would you travel to Helsinki?

  5. I would love to go to Helsinki, Finland it's an unknown country to me, the last one from the Northern Countries that I have left to visit. Unfortunately summer hasn't been generous with us yet either, it's just this week that we had a bit of sun. I see Helsinki is the same.
