Here's a sneak peek to the downstairs bathroom of the house at Lake Balaton, which has been my main project for some time now.
This space used to be the kitchen of the house, but after a total reno it's now turn to the second bathroom.
Wanted to keep the colours as neutral as possible and not putting tiles everywhere. At the moment the accent colour is sunny yellow as the owner like bright warm tones, but it's easy to change the mood of the bathroom with different colours of towels and accessories.
Save some of the original retro tiles from the previous bathroom and made an installation from them.
I love this bathroom. It feels calm and relaxing. The love the neutral colors and then the splash of yellow! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alison :) With white and grey it's easy to add a splash of colour.
DeleteI love what you've done with the tiles !!!! such a great way to bring the old into the new :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It's always good to try to save something old.
DeleteI always fold the towels really boring. Now I saw your pictures and I got so inspired to roll them!

Oh, I'm so happy that my post inspired you :)
DeleteSaving the old tiles for the new bathroom is such a good idea! we're getting our top floor redone soon so I'll bear this in mind. I hate getting rid of old stuff so this will be a nice way to keep a piece of the old decoration with us!
ReplyDeleteIt's great if you can save something old. That will remind you of the history of the place.
Deletewhat a renovation. Loving your stlye and eyes on these details. Some inspiration when I moved in the next few months.
ReplyDeleteHope you could get some inspiration from this post :) I will post later a couple of pics how this all used to look :D
DeleteOOOOOH MY!!! i love this. I love all the colours. Gives me inspiration to redo my bathroom again :) great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) Great to be inspirational!
DeleteVery inspirational post! The bathroom looks wonderful after renovation. Love all details!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteThe yellow accent against the grey neutrals is fantastic. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it :) Thanks!
DeleteBeautiful bathroom. I love how easy it would be to change the mood by just changing the color of a few items.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It took some time and planning... The mood is really easy to change with just a few items.
DeleteYou're welcome! And you will see more very soon:) It's funny how the toilet looks so small in the pic, but actually it's a bit bigger than normally. It must be some kind of optical thing...
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and practical bathroom. I would love to have a similar one! I love the idea with the retro tiles from the previous bathroom! Inspiring idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! It's nice to hear I did it right :)
DeleteI really like the light and modern design. The colors blended beautifully. Like you stated, it`s easy to change the mood of the bathroom just by changing some things. If I were the owner, I would probably want light pink or mint blue instead of yellow.
ReplyDeleteExactly! That's why I always prefer very neutral tones on walls and floors.
DeleteI wish I had a bathroom like this. really loved the colors! A pop of yellow in a bathroom is such an original idea! I got sick of always everything blue.
ReplyDeleteDifferent shades of blue are typically the colours for bathrooms :D Luckily blue wasn't an options for the owner :)
DeleteThose are some real comfy and cozy colors you selected for the bathroom. Great transformation. I like the clean fresh look of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Celeste :)
