A Day in Vienna

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Had a nice day in Vienna with friends on Wednesday (the National Day in Hungary).
The train arrived to Vienna around 12.
First went for a lunch at Cafe Central
Herrengasse 14
Wienerschnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat
- always a good choice in Vienna!
Beautiful, old cafe with high ceilings and columns.
Just little shopping in Douglas:
- Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo
-Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler
&
in Steffl:
- 3pc different hair clips by Alexandre de Paris
Afternoon Tea at Sacher
Philharmonikerstrasse 4
A pot of Earl Grey tea
A slice of Sachertorte mit Schalgsahne
Coca cola light
- trip to Vienna is not perfect without Sachertorte!
Franz Sacher invented the Sacher Cake in 1832.
It was sold right in the beginning at the shop of Hotel Sacher on Kärtner Strasse.
Different sizes of Sacher cakes are still sold at the same shop.
The weather was perfect for a city day. Not too warm, no rain.
Took the train back to Budapest at 5.52pm and arrived app. at 9pm.
Saw a glimpse of the fireworks next to Danube.
