Basic Red For Nails

Saturday, July 18, 2015

I like to wear pastels, rich dark tones, and almost everything in between, but I always come back to basic red. This fire red by Lumene is one of my favourite hues of red. There's still some left in that bottle, although the text on it is almost worn out.

No Chipping!

Monday, January 5, 2015

I don't know how this can even be possible! I painted my nails on Xmas Eve and they still look pretty ok - no chipping. Must be something in the air, I guess. I made my manicure exactly the way I always do:

1. a layer of L'Oreal's Diamond Force base coat
2. two layers of nail polish, in this case Lumene's Gloss & Care with Arctic Minerals, #16 Blooming
3. a layer of Lumene's Natural Code 3D Glitter polish, #58 Pink Diamond
4. a layer of Essie's All-In-One top coat

So miracles can happen!

December Starts in Sparkly Red!

Monday, December 1, 2014

It's 1st December and I decided to celebrate it with sparkly red nails. The color is with sparkles but not glossy at all, more like matt satin. I like it, it's different.

Lumene: 40 Brilliant Sand (Hiekan hehkua)

Made a quick manicure with these products (could have done it better, though! Especially with the cuticles).
Sally Hansen: Instant Cuticle Remover
L'Oreal: Diamond Force for weak nails as a base coat
Lumene: 40 Brilliant Sand
Essie: All-in-one 3-way glaze as a top coat

Hot Red It Is!

Friday, July 25, 2014

Just can't get enough of glitter...
After base coat added 2 layers of pure red and on top a layer of pinkish glitter.
The polish promises glossy nails for up to 7 days... I'm sceptic, but let's see!

Glitter: Lumene Natural Code in #58 Pink Diamond

Scarlet Nails

Sunday, June 29, 2014

Back to the basic - meaning from pale & natural to bright & red.
I've been now 1,5 year without fake nails and gel, and my nails are still so weak. They split instantly when they grow to a certain length, that's why I'm seriously thinking going back to artificial ones. Or at least to add some strengthening gel to the surface. Even though my nails are extremely short I'm happy with the length, I'm not missing the old times when my nails were like this...and these I called short...

ps. the colorful background of the pics are actually my homey shorts, which I bought a year or two ago at HM. So light & loose. Love to wear them at home especially now the weather is pretty warm here.

A Piece Of Chanel

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Yes, I know it's only the beginning of February and I already chose April for my nails…added some black & white confetti on the tip of the nails. The red is nice but I don't know about the confetti…

Chanel: 533 April
L'Oreal: 916 Confettis
Opi: Drip Dry

Powder Room In Red

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

This is how my little powder room is dressed at the moment.
Black and white is so convenient combination,
easy to add some colour to it.
One red lily makes a big difference.
