Aesop - Hydrating Body Gel

Sunday, March 1, 2015

Fresh, woody & slightly floral

Bought this Petitgrain Hydrating Gel by Australian brand Aesop already some time ago. The transparent gel is said to cool skin from sun exposure & waxing, and ideal for those living in warm or humid climates. I'm not living in those conditions, but as it's a refreshing gel that cools and hydrates I use it after sauna.  It feels a bit sticky when applying it but absorbs pretty fast. Althought I wouldn't recommend it for busy mornings.

You can find Aesop products in their own shops almost all around the world like in Paris and now also in Hungary at Madison Perfumery!

//Raikas, metsäinen ja aavistuksen kukkainen

Ostin tämän australialaisen Aesopin Petitgrain Hydrating Gelin jo jokin aika sitten.

Petitgrain is an essential oil that is extracted from the leaves and green twigs of the bitter orange tree via steam distillation.

DIY Gel Nails

Decided finally to try the Nutra Nail gel color set. No UV/LED light needed.

Only 5 mins and my nails were ready. They were dried immediately  and so glossy!
Here's how I achieved them:
Step 1: start with the Activator. Brush wet and shiny coat on all 5 nails of the first hand. The nails must be clean from lotions and oils.

Step 2: Apply thin layer of the color (mine is "Sugar Plum")immediately over wet Activator.

Wipe colour brush and place in Cleaner bottle (this was totally water clear before). Repeat steps 1 & 2 on the other hand.
Make a second coat following the same steps and adding an extra coat of Activator over colour before it's dry.
Quite simple! I didn't really do a proper manicure with removing the cuticles etc so the result could have been better looking...

It really took only 5mins!

ps. It started to crack much sooner than I though... In the package there's no remover, I should've bought it separately, but the colour can also be removed by acetone wrapping each nail with foil and let it for a couple of minutes. Instead of that I started to file the colour off...the result was not so good for my nails. So I'm back to normal nail polish again.
