Autumn Flowers

Thursday, October 2, 2014

What kind of autumn plants to put on the window sills?
That's a question that pops up every season. Made it easy this time and stepped into the nearest flower shop and asked ideas. The boxes are 60x20cm.
Got back home with a punch of beautiful plants which are supposed to survive the winter as well.

In one box there're purple & white Ericas, one huge Hebe and one Skimmia.
Erica I knew and I know that it can survive the winter, just need to give water before it's freezing. Hebe & Skimmia were totally new to me. They both like cool places and need also watering if the temperature is pretty high, and a couple of temperature below zero won't do any harm.
They all like to get sprayed every now and then.

Let's hope i can enjoy these beautiful colors for the whole season!

My Balcony

Thursday, September 11, 2014

This is how my balcony flowers looked in June when I planted them.

This is the situation now in September. Still alive - all of them!
It's been raining quite a lot during this summer, especially at night time.

Parvekekukat kesäkuussa heti istutuksen jälkeen sekä nyt syyskuussa. Kaikki vielä hengissä!
Tänä kesänä on satanut harvinaisen paljon, varsinkin öisin.

Red Hot Chilly Peppers

Monday, October 14, 2013

I still have some balcony herbs and flowers. Wouldn't have believed they'd survive this long. They give such a nice mood inside with their bright colors.

Hungary is known for its variety of paprika species.
Hot & spicy, mild & mellow, red & yellow.

Have a great Monday!

White It Is!

Thursday, April 25, 2013

 It's done!
My balcony is ready for summer.
Decided to plant only white flowers & some herbs.
Purple leaves give some extra colour.

Tranquil place to have morning coffee - or in my case
a nice cup of tea.

Oh, No!

It seems to be continuing...got some more snow.
Bought some daffodils to cheer up.

Spring???

Monday, March 25, 2013

Back in Budapest after being a bit more than
two months in Miami.
Where're all the colours? Flowering trees?
Where's spring?
It's snowing here!!!

Autumn Flowers

Sunday, September 23, 2012

My new balcony flowers for the autumn.
Strong yet delicate hues of lila.

Something to spicy up the kitchen window sill.
 Bright and full of energy.

Had ordered all of these at Plantomime on Nagymezo utca.
When winter arrives they will replace these to evergreens.

Watering 2-3 times a week!

Fresh Herbs & Plants

Sunday, July 15, 2012

My balcony needed some fresh flowers, plants and herbs!
(already the 3rd time this year...
perhaps shouldn't travel so much...)

Here's the result:

Blue Mint

Friday, June 1, 2012

While away from home most of my balcony flowers didn't survive.
Still some strong ones left like this lovely scented Rosemary.
Pink Lobelia is going strong but all Margharitas decided
not to bloom any more.
How do you like my new colour?
The colour has kind of a cooling effect.

Today it's Blue Mint, next week Pictachio or Frozen Berry.
The size of Mavala bottles is so good,
fantastic for season colours.
