Tea Tasting In Budapest

tea tasting

Autumn is arriving and the weather is turning cooler - well, in Budapest the temperature is still above 30˚C. Anyways, tea is a good choice in any climate. Last spring I spotted this fascinating tea shop called Zhao Zhou, where you can also taste different variaties of tea or just pop in for a cup.

The atmosphere at Zhao Zhou is lovely, relaxing and pure. The interior is minimalist yet warm & cosy, and the service is brilliant - they really know everything about teas.

Every now and then they organize tea tastings at Zhao Zhou. Those are great events to get to know more about different varieties, how to prepare a perfect cup of tea and the history of tea. I just checked that the next events are all in Hungarian, but most probably some English ones will also come up soon.

  1. Not a Great Fan Of Tea. But those do look like premium version of tea. Maybe In winter you could start a shop and you know sell distribute in different countries. Our Country India is a tea consumer at least in higher class people.

  7. I have actually never been to a tea tasting before. I think it's a great idea as many of us don't know much about tea and only recognise the usual suspects in our supermarkets. I remember gooing to China and having some delicious tea there, but I wouldn't recognise it now.

  8. I love tea, be it any kind. I have been a tea ceremony in Tokyo and loved the experience; this one looks different but definitely intriguing. I'd love to try it when I get a chance to travel to Budapest. :)

  10. I love all types of tea. it started when I tried to develop my palate for it. So I did pick up the nuances and figured out what I like and what I don't—takes time. It also pays to have some guidance.

  11. I just love tea and coffee. I use to have 5-6 cups a day (after I control a lot). I haven't tasted tea of Vietnam or any other country but in our India we used to have Darjeeling tea and Assam tea. I had been to a tea tasting center in Kerala's gardens.

  13. My son and I love experimenting with new and different teas. When I saw him last weekend, he gave me some really great green tea and I've been using it to make smoothies all week. Green tea + almond milk + avocado + chlorophyll + vanilla + cardamom. Yum! x

  16. I absolutely adore tea and have been getting into more loose leaves as I got some for christmas last year. I just love how easily customizable and more poignant the flavoring is. Zhou looks incredible!
