Smoothie means a kick start for a day for me. I prepare one every morning. What kind of smoothie I make depends on the season and availability of fruit and berries. Now it's the strawberry season in Hunagry (the second season!) so I use strawberries as the main ingredient. The otehr ingredients are the same as usual - banana, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, coconut oil...
What makes this week's smoothies a bit special is the granola on the top. I found banana-chocolate paleo granola at MentesNasi.
This granola is made of:
dates, walnut, pumkin seeds, sunflower seeds, banana, Cavalier chocolate and sesame seeds.
What does 'paleo' mean?
Paleo is a diet that leans on proteins, fruits, vegetables, hralthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil, fish oil and grass-fed meat.
The main health benefits of a paleo diet is that it improves blood lipids and reduces pain from autoimmunity and increases the intake of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
I think that changing some of those foods we're eating to paleo foods already makes a difference in well-being.
My strawberry smoothie
1 banana
a bite of fresh ginger
2 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon lucuma powder
2 teaspoon coconut oil
soyamilk
