A Room For Kids

Tuesday, May 31, 2016

This s the kids' room of a 2-bedroom flat in a nice riverside area on Budaside. The girl will start school this autumn so needed a desk  for her, and, of course, for her little brother as well, although he's not yet having the patience to sit still for a long.
Wanted to keep the walls and pieces of furniture neutral. White is always a great option - it keeps the space light and airy, and then you can play with the colourful textiles and toys.

The room is pretty narrow but could fit there a full size cupboard for clothes and other things. A bunk bed was the only option here, because needed as much space as possible in the middle of the room for playing.

White curtains create a fresh and soft atmosphere, and let the light in.

    1. Thank you so much :) Usually in Hungary people don't want to have anything in white - I was so happy that she wanted all white.

  4. I like that they kept a white background, it gives the room the impression of more space. The bunk bed is always a great idea in a room where brothers have to share.

    1. Thank you :) I almost always suggest white curtains - they give enough cover but don't blog the light coming outside.

  12. Agree white color is best for light reflection and for kids room too. Loved the way you arranged everything though the room has less space.

    1. Thank you so much :) Especially here in hungary people are so afraid of white - I don't know why, probably having bad experience or just being prejudiced.

  13. You made it look so classy even tho it's the kids room ! Honestly you made the right choice with the white walls. It's going to be easier to redecorate or just transition throughout seasons. Lol you need to get this little one a desk too, where do you think he's going to do his coloring at ?
