A Day In Vienna

Saturday, October 8, 2016

(EN) Vienna is such a great city to visit even if you happen to have only one day to stay there. From Budapest it's easy to go to Vienna by train. There're several trains a day from early morning to late night almost on every hour. The journey takes about 2,5 hours depending on the train.

One of my favourite places in Vienna is Volksgarten with roses. There're around 400 different roses in every colour and the scent there is simply gorgeous. This garden is located beside Hofburg building and easy to find as it's in the centre of Vienna. The garden was made in 1821 as a private garden but in 1825 it was open as the first public garden for Viennase citizens. Since that the garden is known as Volksgarten (public garden).

If you have time just for one museum, go & visit Albertina (Albertinaplatz 1). There are permanent collections including graphic art, photographic and architectural collections as well as changing exhibitions

When you're hungry and want real Viennase food, go to Cafe Central (Herrengasse 14) and order their Wiener Schnitzel - with that you can't go wrong! You might need to queue a bit during the lunch time but it's worth it. This 140 years old restaurant looks beautiful inside and the service is wonderful.

Yksi suosikkipaikkojani Wienissä on Volksgarten ruusutarhoineen.

Lisäksi tarjolla on korkeatasoisia vaihtuvia näyttelyitä.
