I've been using eye creams and serums for ever. First time I tried one I was 19 years and at least that time the selection was not that wide like nowadays and the cream I tries was pretty heavy and made my eye contour area puffy and got huge eye bags - I hardly could open my eyes. Anyway, times have changed and the products have developed enormously and there's a right one for everyone and for any age.
So why it's important to use an eye serum?
First of all the skin around the eye area is extremely delicate. The eye area is often the first to show the first signs of ageing. Specically formulated creams and serums should be used instead of normal moisturizers, which are too heavy for this area around the eyes.
The texture of serums is normally lighter than in creams so they don't feel too greasy, actually not greasy at all. I prefer serums which can be used all around the eye area not just under eyes. My eyelids are not so firm any more so I definitely want to have a product that helps me with this sagging issue as well, not just wrinkles.
With the eye serums it's good to remember that less is more. The delice skin cannot absorb too much so be carefull not to overload with serums. Applying a thick layer will cause dragging making the skin strecth and sag.
Kiehl's Super Multi-corrective Eye-opening Serum has 10% botanical extracts and sodium hyaluronic which help the delicate skin lift, firm and restore youthful look.
I pat it am & pm gently starting from the inner corner, under eye towards temples and continue along orbital bone and over eyelid.
Are you using an eye serum?

DeleteI wonder if this would help... i'm suffering from terrible allergies and rubbing my eyes all the time - i can already see a difference -they seem to be aging... maybe i'll give this a try :)
ReplyDeleteThis is suppose to be suitable for sensible skin as well. Just a drop would be enough to improve th appearance.
DeleteI have been struggling to find a good eye cream since I moved to chemical free products but serum is probably the way to go. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI recommend this for you to try as it's light and has natural ingredients.
Deleteoh I never thought that there is such thing as eye opening serum and I guess i need this product myself.. for someone who always work on a grave shift, my greatest enemy are my eyebags and maybe this one can make them less visible right? I just hope I can find one here in my place

DeleteThis was very helpful and enlightening. To be honest I didn't know it was so important to use a serum. I should start taking more care and pay more attention to the skin under my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite essential to start using serum or at least light eye cream when you turn 25.
