This is the master bedroom of the flat, which kids' room I introduced a bit earlier. Nice 2-bedroom apartment in a new building by the Danube. There are no built-in wardrobes, so storage place was obviously needed for this family with two children. After fitting two full-size wardrobes there wasn't much space left for anything else than a bed. As a matter of fact nothing else was needed there. The mirror doors of the wardrobe create a spacious feeling.
Kept the colour palette light and matching with the whole home. Lots of white, hint of grey and turquoise & pink pastels to give some colour. If the lady of the house gets bored with those pastels she can easily change the atmosphere by replacing a couple of cushion covers in her new favourite colour.
The shelving system reminds of the classic String, but the old shelves and brackets were found of her parents' garage. It's so fantastic when you can reuse old pieces especially those with full of history. She remembers those shelves from her childhood.
Originally planned to place some pictures on the wall behind the bed, but then decided to leave it empty and she can fill it later with her own favourite paintings - she likes to paint.

ReplyDeleteMy room has never been this pristine and clean. Though the pastel colours look soothing to the eye, I have one question. Is it easy to maintain these ? i mean dont they get dirty soon? Im not sure thats why Im asking cause in India, due to pollution and dust, we usually avoid such light coloured bed covers.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point! I always say that it's better that you see the dirtiness than that you hide it. I understand that the air is more polluted in India and people are used to richer colours. I have had a white bed sprad for 10 years and I don't need to wash it too often.
DeleteThose colors are so refreshing and delightful. What a beautiful place to rest and dream.
