Celebration!

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

So it was the big National Day in Hungary yesterday.
The weather was boiling hot so chose this
comfy, light jersey black dress.
Dress - Nanso
Clutch - LV
Brooch - Uniquco Design
Sandals - Coach
Need to have my hair up when the weather is extremely warm.

In the Castle District there's an annual traditional handicraft market during the festive season.
Kekfesto
Traditional Hungarian blue-dyed fabrics.

The technology of blue-dyeing comes from the thousand-year-old batik work. First a protective layer is printed on white cotton or linen with printing block and blue dye can't colour this protective layer, so the pattern remains white, undyed there. From the blue dyes that can be found in nature, indigo appeared in the largest quantities.

 Traditional Hungarian wedding dress
The traditional Hungarian bridal dress was very elaborately embroidered, very often with a flower motif.
Three bright and vibrant colors were usually repeated in the bride’s dress.
Under the dress were many layers of underskirts.

 Turo gomboc
Curd cheese dumplings seasoned with lingonberries and decorated with dried chili peppers.
Delicious? No idea...

At 9pm over the Danube.
The spectacular fireworks lasted for 25mins.

  5. Hei,
BagMiss-postauksessa kerroit hankkineesi laukkuja Parndorfin outletista: innokkaana Itävallan-kävijänä en ollut kuullutkaan ko. paikasta: onko todella käymisen arvoinen paikka/hyvät valikoimat jne? kiitos jo etukäteen, t. Rida Suomen Turusta

    1. Parndorfin outlet on vuosien varrella vain parantunut ja valikoima laajentunut - ehdottomasti kaymisen arvoinen paikka jos siella pain sattuu olemaan. Wienista ajaa puolisen tuntia, taalta Budapestista pari tuntia. On siis aivan Budapest-Wien moottoritien varrella lahella Unkarin rajaa. Tama outlet on sellainen ulkoilmakompleksi joka kasittaa reilut 100 liiketta. Jos kiinnostaa voit tsekata blogistani Parndorfin kohdalta, oon tehnyt pari postausta reissuistani sinne.
      Terkkuja helteisesta Budapestista!
