Wyannie Malone Museum
Monday, February 21, 2011
Visited the Wyannie Malone Museum
in Hope Town
for a dose of local history
The museum was named affor
a Loyalist widow from Charleston, South Carolina,
Wyannie Malone,
who arrived on the cay in 1785 with her 4 children
and became the founding "mother" of the settlement.
.
Charming staircase in the museum
.
There was a period of the pirates
.
Wyannie's dining room
.
Her bathroom
.
Her bedroom
The rooms have been re-created,
furnished with period pieces
which were found on the island or lent by locals
.
Another bedroom
.
Pieces of jewellery of the old times
.
Loads of buttoms
.
Charming small museum
- worth to pay a visit while in Hope Town
.
