Finnish Housing Fair 2009 in Valkeakoski

Thursday's program was to visit the annual Housing Fair

.

Trends in housing:

Big terraces,

greenhouses,

large, open entrance halls

instead of cupboards, more walk-in closets

.

Not so big differences between the houses,

most of them almost the same.

Perhaps house number 21

"Lupaus" (="promise")

was the best inside, outside

looked different and interesting outside,

but the inside solutions were awfull

very typical this year
. Many of the houses had a fire place
Here a clean-shaped, simple one

- nice built-in storage for the logs

Almost all the kitchens were high-glossed white or black

Many of the kitchens had a narrow window
above the worktop
- liked that solution a lot!

Bathrooms were all very similar,
mostly white ones,
rainshowers was a big hit

These 2 toilets had a wallpaper made of a photo/picture

A big window made the bathroom look like a room

Beautiful black and white sauna/steam room
.

White, of course,

with focus on the metal silver frames and chair

- the frosty looking glass on the right side

looked very interesting

Worth to visit,

even though not so much totally new things and ideas.

From the parking place there was a shuttle bus to the fair ground.

On the way back to the parking lot,

the bus driver was telling interesting stories of Valkeakoski town:

history, sights, football...

- excellent idea!
