Early on Saturday morning took a bus to Isola
and from there a catamaran to Venice
.
Prince of Venice
The trip was organized by Kompas
If you wanted you could have gone around Venice with a guide.
As visiting Venice several times,
once or twice a year,
it wasn't necessary.

The catamaran left Isola at 8am and was in Venice app. 11am

View to Piazzetta,
the square between Libreria and the Doge's Palace
- the Clocktower Torre dell'Orologio seems to need some support
.
.
Venetian condola
- today there are 385 condolas in Venice
- to make a condola it takes a year
and costs almost like a brand new Mercedes
.
.
Basilica di San Marco at Piazza San Marco
- the present building is the result of the 3rd rebuilding,
which was completed in 1060
- it gives the impression of an expensive jewelry box!
.
.
Procuratie
Procurators' Offices
.
.
Lunch at a restaurant next to Rialto Bridge by Canal Grande
(don't remember the name of it, althought been there 3 times before!)
- touristic & expensive, of course,
but the food is excellent and the waiters are professionals
.
.
As a starter had shrimps with green salad
- excellent, basic flavours, nothing too fancy
.
.
Grilled turbot
(doesn't look so good in the pic after repairing it ready to eat)
- excellent again,
fresh taste of the fish, no extra seasoning needed,
the texture was perfect
.
.
Italian lemon sorbet
.
.
View to Canal Grande from the restaurant table
.
.
Venice is so beautiful
- by the way, the temperature was 34°C!!!
.
.
Made some shopping after the one of the best lunches,
bought for example
.
.
- lovely orange blossom scent
.
Bought a colourful tunic by Missoni
- need some extra work to pay for it....
- beautiful colours!
.
.
for the last year's Missoni "Chrysler Building"top
(bought it in the same Missoni shop last spring)
- they have a fantastic Missoni collection
