Moodboard For A Reading Corner

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Mummon lukunurkkaus on kalustettu neutraalin harmaalla, pehmeällä, modernilla divaanilla. Maljakossa on aina tuoreita kukkia.

... and same in English!

There was a competion organized by a Finnish interior magazine Deko, Swedish chocolate manufacture Marabou and Finnish Housing Fair. They were looking for moodboards for a reading corner and the winner will have a chance to decorate her/his vision fro the Housing Fair this summer. All the candidates that were chosen for the finals received a box of chocolate.

Loving to make moodboards and eating chocolate, so of course, I accepted this challenge and made my moodboard. unfortunatey I wasn't among the chosen ones, but anyway I want to present my vision here.

Grandmother's reading nook or corner is furnished with a neutral grey, modern and soft lounge chair. Walls are painted or wallpapered with fresh white. Small details such as cushions, rug, glass vases in candy colors bring joy and playfulness to the space. Reading lights are timeless design classics, but there will be hanging from the ceiling an airy statement piece lamp. Always fresh-cut flowers in the vases. All tiny details are beautiful and having a bit of playfullness, which make the grandchildren want to spend their time there as well.

Candy colors, lucid glass and a piece of chocolate.

  2. I like how you combined neutrals with candy hue accents. For me I like colour and minimalism so your reading corner is the perfect example of that x
