Island-Style House

Friday, February 1, 2013

As it was a bit cloudy on Thursday, decided to drive up to West Palm Beach and visit American Red Cross Designers' Show House.

It took 5 years to renovate this seaside house.
It was rotten, a total mess.
The island style house was inspired by the famous Key West landmark, Fogerty's, which is the homeowner's favourite restaurant and bar.
The house includes several decks and patios.
The alligator pavement is a nice detail!
(sorry, no pics from inside
as it's not allowed to take photos there - what a pity!)

16 interior designers took the challenge and transformed this house into a gorgeous island-style home.

Each designer had one space to design:
exterior entrance, foyer, Living room, powder room, kitchen, dining room, outside pool area, master bedroom, writer's studio, 2nd floor powder room, 2nd floor hall, guest suite, study, cocktail cabana, west terrace, east terrace and crow's nest.

My favourite ones were:
the living room with tropical, relaxed and chic atmosphere,
2nd floor hall with the sea-coloured palette, masterpiece of chic and casual elegance
and the outside terraces - all very cosy and welcoming.
