Drove to south to Long Beach
- nowadays it looks like any American city with skyscrapers
- "Iowa by the sea"is its nickname
Palos Verdes and Long Beach are the ports of Los Angeles
The Queen Mary
- its maiden voyage was 27 May 1936
- it made weekly trips between Southampton and New York City
(have made the same trip on Queen Mary 2!)
- anyone who was anyone sailed on Queen Mary,
from royalty to Hollywood stars
- today the Queen Mary is a hotel

(always eating crab cakes when possible!)
Didn't find it very interesting in Long Beach
but Manhattan Beach next to Marina del Rey is a gorgeous place
- will come back to it later
