My Helsinki

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Had a long weekend in Helsinki
.
Berry stalls at the Market Square
.
Rasberries & blueberries
.
An old museum ship at the harbour
.
The most beautiful church in Finland
The Uspensky Cathedral was built in 1868,
it's the main church of the orthoox parish of Helsinki
.
Absolutely my favourite church:
Uspensky Cathedral
www.uspenski.fi
.
People gathered around Kluuvikatu
to see a glimpse of U2
.
U2 stayed at Hotel Kamp for 2 nights
- didn't see Bono nor either of the gigs
but heard "Streets Have No Name",
"With Or Without You" etc
up to Kruununhaka
on Saturday night!
"Sunday Bloody Sunday"
is my U2 favourite
.
By the way, don't know why called it
"My Helsinki"
- there's no pics of any of the gorgeous Jugendstil houses
which make Helsinki so unique...
