Finnish Midsummer is nothing
without a bunch of birch branches!
This leafy bouquet called "vihta" or "vasta"
is used in sauna
to spank the skin to get rid of all the dirt
- sounds extremely weird,
but the aromatic scent of birch is marvellous
.
