Hiking

Sunday, August 16, 2009

On Saturday morning went running
by the river Inn,
had good breakfast at the hotel
.
Tirolean style breakfast room
at Grand Hotel Europa

After the breakfast took a "ski lift"
from this Congress Station
- looked like a piece of art design
by Stefan Lindfors
.
The Nordketten 1 ski-lift arriving
.
Good, spacious solution for
bringing the skiing equipment etc
up to the mountains in winter time
.
Station Hungerburg
where changed to Seegrube
.
Alpen Hutte
. Nordketten 2 towards Seegrube
.
Cute lambs
.
Some cows too
.
So this was the starting point
Seegrube 1.905m
.
First had to climb up
.
Some sheep on the way
.
There's a path down there,
instead continued to walk upwards
.
The path was really narrow
.
Innsbruck somewhere down there
.
Maybe not the right way to go down to
Höttinger Alm...
Right way or not,
really enjoyed the landscape
& walking
.
Asked some people about the way
and was told that the path goes
all away up to the top of the mountain...
To be able to reach the top need
proper equipment
.
A quite steep zig zag route
headed to Höttinger Alm
.
Beautiful scenary
but the path was scary to walk,
pebbles made it slippery
.
Finally: Höttinger Alm in 1.487m
.
Johannisbeersaft mit Wasser
- delicious
- good for the thirst and gave energy as well
.
There were hens at the garden
.
Ate a bowl of mixed salad for lunch
.
Could have chosen Wurst Platte
- but didn't
.
Höttinger Alm
.
Achtung! Achtung!
The way down to Arzler Alm
was much easier,
but had to be extra carefull not to
step on these...
.
This time the way wasn't so steep

just going down and down...
.
Alpen flowers
.
Lots of red berries in these trees
- it means lots of snow in the coming winter
.
Arzler Alm in 1067m
- just a bottle of mineral water
.
Almost down already
.
Still some narrow and steep paths to walk
beside waterfalls near Alpen Zoo
.
After the zoo chose a normal road to go down.
Here a house in Hötting
.
Absolutely fabulous day!!!
