Are you familiar with Olioboards?
It's a great tool to make mood boards. I tried it by making the boards of my bedroom ,living room and a dream seaside condo. Need some more practice...There are ready-made layouts for backgrounds to choose from, of course, the variety is not huge so have to pick the one which is nearest to the space you want to represent. You can choose the pieces of furniture from real shops like Crate & Barrel, Anthropologie, CB2...Where's Pottery Barn???
I made these exercises in 2D. Have to find out how to make 3D boards!
