Jubilee!
The entrance of Fortnum & Mason
is decorated with unique interpretation of the Queens Beasts
to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Having High Tea at the newly renovated and renamed
Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon Fortnum & Mason with my Mom.
The tea salon was opened by HM the Queen
accompanied by the Duchess of Cornwall and
the Duchess of Cambridge on March 1st 2012.
Starting with savouries:
Fortnum's Classic Welsh Rarebit
- excellent!
Continuing with scones and cakes.
A scone with apricot jam and Somerset clotted cream.
Yummy!
Ate every piece of the cakes...no dinner tonight!

The historic creatures on the wall,
which represent British monarchy's many illustrious ancestors,
are depicted in bright sand cheerful colours.
The scones look absolutely delicious! Wish I could have some!
ReplyDeleteSo great that you also went to Fortnum and Mason for afternoon tea. It's such a great experience, isn't it? From what it looks like, we may even have sat at the same table (I'm guessing from the fifth photo).
