Old Town Of Naantali

Thursday, June 30, 2011

 Visited Naantali ,
a small town in the west coast of Finland
Wooden houses of the Old Town
Naantali is considered to have been
founded on 23 August 1443
 Very neat and well-kept!
My grandmother lived in this house
when she was young
Not so common:
-beautiful wooden Jugend style house
The Jugend house is a small hotel
 Restaurant Merisali
- had lunch there
 Herring, baltic herring and macrill
from the lunch buffet
- the salad made of beetroot, carrots, potato
is usually christmas food...
but why not!

Can't see the bottom of the sea
.
By the way there was a nice pop-up shop on the street
near that house by the sea
selling clothes by Sand, Marc O'Polo...
 Naantali is a summer town
- the President of Finland has
summer house called Kultaranta
(Gold coast) there
.
Naantali is also a spa town:
- the water from Viluluoto Spring was
discovered to be beneficial in alleviating
the symptoms of many illnesses
at the start of the 1700s
Very nice place,
especially when the weather is warm and sunny
