Wine Weekend in Tokaj

Left for Tokaj on Friday afternoon

to spend the weekend there

tasting Tokaj wines

The town of Tokaj can be found at the feet of

the highest and most preserved volcano of Hungary,

at the confluence of the Rivers Tisza and Bodrog

.

Had made a reservation for 2 nights at Toldi Fogado
.

Got rooms 207 & 208 with friends,

kind of an apartment,

these 2 rooms sharing a small hallway,

bathroom and huge balcony

.

The hotel has a wellness department

with jacuzzi, swimming pool & sauna

- simple but nice for a morning swim

and a short relaxing moment in the afternoon

Friday dinner at the hotel

Not a very busy place

- some locals arrived later,

mainly for drinks
.

Mushroom soup
- very tasty!
.

Grilled gooseliver with mushroom stew

and diced potato

- also very tasty
.

Good Hungarian food!
