Gone Fishing

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Girls gone fishing! Had a chance to visit this interesting place in eastern Finland where you can fish your own salmon trout, had it cleaned and prepared the way you want meaning it can be cooked on open fire or smoked.

This fish place is called Lohimaa ('salmonland') and it's located in Äyskoski near Kuopio. Fishing itself doesn't cost anything but you pay for your catch. You find all the needed equipment there so no need to bring anything with you. Thereäs a special pool for this kind of fishing and itäs almost guaranteed that evryone catches at least one fish. After catching your fish you take it to the fishing bar where they clean the fish if you want and also prepare it the way you wish. You can then eat it on the spot or take it home. We had the fish only cleaned and grilled it back at the summer cottage.

Have you ever been fishing?

  16. Wow what a great catch! I also love how clear your pictures are. I have been fishing once, but I wouldn't really say it was fishing. It was in the city and we threw the fishes back in the water.
