Churros For Breakfast

Sunday, July 10, 2016

There was a food truck in my neighbourhood selling churros. They were made on the spot and looked so crispy and delicious that could't resist buying a couple of them.

Churros are popular in Spain especially in Madrid. People are having them for breakfast and dip them in their morning latte or hot chocolate. A churro is a fried-doug pastry. They are fried until they become crunchy, and may be sprinkled with sugar. The surface of a churro is ridged due to having been piped from a churrera - a syringe-like tool with a star-shaped nozzle. Shape of a churro can be straight, curled or spirally twisted.

Added some strawberry jam on the side. If you are a fan of Nutella it might be a good choice with churros.

Have you ever tried churros?

ps. I found a recipe for home-made churros from here.

  4. I love churros as well but I bet they taste more authentic than they do in the UK. Jam is a good should although nutella would be good too.
