Arriving To Paris

Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Arrived to Paris around 6pm on Tuesday, took a train from the airport to Les Halles. Not a very pleasant ride...took ages as the train stopped ever so often. Planned to continued from there by metro, but changed mind and took a taxi to the hotel.
I don't know Paris well, more likely not at all. Had made a booking for a hotel in 15th district (arrondissement)which actually is pretty far away...
Anyway, the hotel's nice and new, although the building is old and has a real Parisian feeling.
Our tiny room is on the 6th floor. Yeah, it is small, but actually very functional and the shower is just perfect.

Went to a bistro near by - can't remember the name - for a light supper. Ordered sardines with mint taboule to start with - delicious, great flavours - and salmon tartar for main course - that was a mistake - it was delicious but absolutely too huge portion, just couldn't finish it. Felt really sad to leave my plate only half eaten. Chablis was a perfect choice with this meal.

Nauti kaupungista!
