Kos Town

Friday, September 30, 2011

Rented a jeep for 3 days
- actually one day would've been enough,
not so much to see

 Anyway, started with Kos town

 Lots of ruins, of course

The main square of Kos town
- municipal market is on the right side
(not really seen in the picture!)

The Market place of Kos was considered one of the biggest
in the ancient world.
It was the commercial and commanding centre
at the heart of the ancient city

 Olive oils to choose from
inside the municipal market
 Dried rose buds
Fishing boats in the harbour of Kos town
 Fishermen at work
- taking care of the nets
View of Kos town from the harbour
The beach and hotel area of Kos town
- well, not so special...
- don't think that would enjoy laying there...
What a beautiful bouganville covering this ancient(?) gate!
After a while was ready to continue exploring the island
- drove up to the mountains
- Kos town down there
