Leaving Miami at 7.15am
to Key West
for a day
and to pick up a couple of friends
back to Miami
.
.
The morning traffic wasn't too bad at all
.
Took the road 1 through The Florida Keys
including Key Largo,
Tavernier, Islamorada,
Marathon & Big Pine Key
before arriving to Key West
.
The sceenery is so different from anything else!
.
Do not take that bridge!!!
.
Seven Mile Bridge

.
Arrivong to Key West
- the journey took about 3,5hours
- had a stop in Boig Pine Key
trying to find Bare Sole Sandals store,
but couldn't find it!
- instead had a salmon bagel at
Bagel Island Coffee & Deli,
excellent bagels there!
.
Charming street of Key West
.
It's very green & cosy
.
The wooden Key West houses are so beautiful
.
.
.
Oh, not my mistake!
.
Had lunch at Louie's Backyard
- beautiful place!
.
Conch fritters
- haven't eaten them since in the Bahamas
.
Gorgeous view from the restaurant
.
Access to the beach next to the restaurant
.
Southernmost Point of the United States
- in this point Cuba is closer
than the nearest Walmart!
.
People queuing for taking photos
of themselves & Southernmost Point!
.
Oh, there's Coach!
Let's see if there's something nice to buy there
.
Didn't go there for nothing!
.
Nice colours:
light grey, pale pink & sky blue
.
Jimmy Buffett's
Margaritaville Cafe!
- didn't go inside...
.
Cheeseburger in paradise...
.
Duval Street
- the main shopping street of Key West
.
.
A trip to Key West wouldn't be perfect
without a slice of Key Lime Pie
.

Popped into a French cafe
for a pie
.
Key West Lime Pie
in French style
.
Blueberry pie
- not bad either!
.
Back in Miami
