Penhaligon's

Saturday, May 29, 2010

Actually wanted to buy a new scent
plus shower gel & body cream
at Jo Malone
- got an e-mail earlier from them
about this week's free concultation
& hand and arm massage
- unfortunately the service was not
the kind that had expected,
so left the Sloane Street store
without buying anything
.
Luckily noticed a small boutique in Islington
selling famous British Penhaligon's fragrances!
And the service was excellent!

Bought a lovely Violetta eau de toilette
& a Bluebell scented candle
.
Beautiful blue shade of Violetta
- the scent is kind of old-fashion,
yet trendy and interesting
with soft powderish finish
.
The brand has a long history behind it.
.
"Today, our scents are still made in England
using the finest rare ingredients;
from hand-squeezed bergamot,
to jasmine at twice the price of gold."
.
"Over 135 years since the doors of the Penhaligon's barber shop
first opened on Jermyn Street,
William Penhaligon's hugely precious archives
continue to inspire and inform everything we do.
Our passion is to carry on his incredible
legacy of creative and innovative perfumery,
challenging the traditions of the art
and seeking new ways to interpret elegance."
