Hiking in Bellagio

Monday, August 24, 2009

Saturday walk
.
Bellagio has an area that extends from app. 200m at sea level
to reach the peak of Monte San Primo at 1.680m
.
Bellagio is divided into 22 small hamlets
that are all extremely characteristic .
.
Walked up to Vergonese,
then up and down through Mulini del Perlo,
Visgnola, Regatola, Villa Giulia, Oliveiro…
These are all hamlets of Bellagio
.

Saw many green houses
.
No idea what is the name of this plant
with flowers and fruit at the same time
.
Lunch in Pescallo at La Pergola
Entrance to La Pergola
.
View of the lake Como
.
As a starter had caprese
- too much mozzarella, heavy one
.
As a main course had a local dish:
fried pesce persico (perch filets)
with rise & curry sauce!
- very good!
Don’t know how they had made the rice so tasty!
.
Boats in Pescallo
.
The cobble stoned paths went up & down
.
Pink house & pink flowers
.
Continued to walk to the downtown,
had an stracciatella ice cream
and sat down for a moment at Punta Spartivento
- the end of the peninsula
.
Punta Spartivento
.
Someone's villa in the end of the peninsula
.
Didn't choose the easiest way back to the hotel...
Again took a small path up & down, steep steps etc.
- not easy but very pretty

.
The path went through a farm
.
